Detrimental changes in the degree of blood hemoglobin saturation with oxygen are important evidence of hypoxic states and can be regarded as objective indication to surgical delivery. A new method of fetal pulsoximetry was developed. This method is based on the use of a non-disposable atraumatic pulsoximetric sensor of reflectory type for diagnosis of intrauterine foetus state during parturition.

An increase in the grouping interval duration causes a decrease in the sensitivity of diagnostic parameters to patient state and diagnostic mistakes.

Cryogenization of the culture in the form of suspension of the vegetative mycelium in 20 per cent glycerol solution at a rate of 1 degree/min showed to be advantageous over lyophilization and L-drying. Cryogenization under such conditions provided rather high viability of the culture and preservation of its initial antibiotic activity for the period of its storage for at least 1.

Labor analgesia by antipain peripheral electro-neurostimulation (APES), including paravertebral transcutaneous electro-neurostimulation (TENS), two-channel TENS, rectal electrostimulation, using the Eliman device, was conducted in 234 term deliveries. The results were good or satisfactory in 94.3% of the parturients.

The strains are a phenotypically homogeneous group different from the two known species (K. zopfii and K.

In 295 patients in the early postoperative period anesthesia was performed by means of percutaneous electrostimulation with a new national apparatus Eliman-101. The authors note high efficiency of such analgesia in 63,4% of the patients, satisfactory results were obtained in 32,3%. No sufficient anesthesia was achieved in 13 patients (4,3%).

In 107 patients with chronic pain syndromes, transcutaneous electrostimulation by an apparatus ELIMAN -101 was used in conjunction with drug treatment and physiotherapy. On the basis of a complex of estimation tests, the patients studied were divided into three groups depending on the degree of the analgesic effect. A good analgesic response was obtained in 65.

During joint cultivation of the actinomycetes Streptomyces griseus (strains 65 and 744) isolated from the soil and the green algae Chlorella vulgaris larger amount of biomass as compared with solitary axenic culture have been shown. The relation of biomass of actinomycetes S. griseus strain 65 and S.

In the cells of the two variants grown on glucose and mannitol, the process of induction occurs in the presence of chloramphenicol.

The paper presents more complete information about the structure of layers which separate the endosymbiont from the cytoplasm of host cells and about changes in the structure of the both partners accompanying sporogenesis.

The mass of dead cells acts similarly to the living biomass.

Comparative studies were made employing thirteen new isolates of Kurthia zopfii and strain ATCC 10538. It was shown that the cell wall of K. zopfii contained lysine, glycine, alanine, leucine, valine, aspartic and glutamic acids, ribose.

Inoculations of the submerged mycelium of different age into a solid medium give rise to both "tomentose" variants (TV) with the aerial mycelium and "naked" variants (NV) lacking the aerial mycelium.

It was shown that adifferentiated nocardioform variants (NV) of Streptomyces roseoflavus var. roseofungini 1128 may appear in mycelial cell suspensions of submerged actinomycete cultures in water, phosphate buffer, and water with fructose (1%) or glucose (1%), as well as in mycelia of old (10-30 days) cultures on different carbon sources. When sugars, alcohols, or amino acids were added to a medium with fructose, NV formation was inhibited, but not completely suppressed.

If the cells of Candida guilliermondii are treated with submicroscopic granular structures (SMGS) of levorin, the structures are adsorbed on the surface of the yeast cell walls. Some visible changes occur in the ultrastructure of the yeast cells incubated with SMGS of levorin for 5 min: the inner layer of the cell wall becomes loose, the periplasmic space appears, the cytoplasmic membrane becomes thicker, the mitochondria swell, and fragmentation of the mitochondrial cristae takes place.
