Background In renal transplant patients, the biopsy-proven incidence of polyomavirus nephropathy (PVN) is approximately 5%. Myelonecrosisis a rare antemortem finding most commonly seen in haematopoeitic neoplasms, especially in acute leukemia. When myelonecrosis occurs at the time of presentation, it imposes certain diagnostic issues in sub categorization of leukemias which is necessary for therapeutic as well as prognostic purposes. Flow cytometry, though is a powerful modality, has its own limitations especially when the cells are not fresh and viable; and when the specimen is not of adequate cellularity which is usual in cases of myelonecrosis.

Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infections have a high probability of co-infections with Syphilis and hepatitis B virus since they share the common routes of transmission. We report a 41-year-old HIV male (on antiretroviral therapy for the past 6 years) admitted for a complaint of penile ulcer for 2 months. Serology for syphilis and hepatitis B were positive.

Late congenital syphilis refers to the people with syphilis from the age of 2 to 30 years. We report a case of late congenital syphilis in a 9 year old girl with perforation of palate and saddle nose deformity. Kassowitz law was also observed (if a woman with untreated syphilis has series of pregnancies, the likelihood of infection of the fetus in later pregnancies becomes less).
