S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) as a major methyl donor plays a key role in methylation modification in vivo, and its disorder was closely related to neural tube defects (NTDs). However, the exact mechanism between SAM deficiency and NTDs remained unclearly. Hence, we investigated the association between histone methylation modification and cell differentiation in NTDs mice induced by SAM deficiency.

Article Synopsis
  • Eleutherococcus henryi (EH), known as "Wu-Jia-Pi", has a long history in Chinese medicine for treating various conditions like mental fatigue, arthritis, and liver issues, but research on its neuroprotective effects is limited.
  • The study aims to investigate the anti-neuroinflammatory properties of EH and identify the bioactive compounds responsible for its traditional uses using chromatographic techniques and advanced pharmacological methods.
  • Results showed that EH's methanol extract inhibited harmful inflammatory mediators in brain cells, revealing 31 secondary metabolites, including several promising compounds with potential anti-neuroinflammatory activity.

S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) plays a critical role in the development of neural tube defects (NTDs). Studies have shown that the paired box 3 (Pax3) gene is involved in neural tube closure. However, the exact mechanism between Pax3 and NTDs induced by SAM deficiency remains unclear.

Myelomeningocele is a common congenital anomaly associated with polygenic disorders worldwide. However, the intricate molecular mechanisms underlying myelomeningocele remain elusive. To investigate whether ferroptosis and ferritinophagy contribute to the pathomechanism of myelomeningocele, differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified as novel biomarker and potential treatment agents.

Article Synopsis
  • * It also highlights the emergence of GII.6[P7] as a significant non-GII.4 strain, predominantly identified from May to July 2020, with researchers sequencing and analyzing the whole genomes of specific strains collected during that time.
  • * Phylogenetic analysis indicated that the GII.6 [P7] strains PL20-044 and QTX20-071 have undergone intra

The phytochemical investigation on the rhizomes of (Dryopteridaceae) resulted in the discovery of one novel compound, drycrassirhizomamide A (), and one new natural product, drycrassirhizomamide B (), as well as four known isolates, ()-(-)--benzoylphenylalaninol (), blumenol A (), 8--glucosylnoreugenin (), and dryopteroside (). Their chemical structures were identified by NMR and mass spectroscopy. Compounds were determined to be 1,19-diethyl 10-oxo-2,9,11,18-tetraazanonadecanedioate and ,'-diethyl ,'-1,6-hexanediylbis[carbamate].

There have been many discussions on longevity from ancient times to the present day. In the Laozi, it is said, "Heaven and earth are long and enduring because they do not arise from themselves, so they can live forever." In Zhuangzi - Zai You, it is also said, "Keep your mental peace, and your body will be healthy.

A series of nickel-incorporated SBA-15 mesoporous molecular sieves (Ni-SBA-15) were prepared as support for the immobilization of his-tagged recombinant Microbacterium esterase. The Ni-SBA-15 could strongly and specific absorb the his-tagged esterase from cell disrupted supernatant. It was found that the nickel amount in Ni-SBA-15 has dramatic influence on the activity and thermo-stability of immobilized enzyme, while the kinds of nickel precursor had little effect on enzyme stability.
