Background: Chronic cerebral hypoperfusion triggers the development of white matter hyperintensities (WMHs), common in cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD). However, conventional imaging techniques cannot visualize cerebral small vessels. The retina, a direct extension of the central nervous system, has an unclear correlation with WMHs.

We report the first case of idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome that has clinical features of capsular warning syndrome lasting 6 weeks.
Patient Concerns: A 26-year-old man complained of recurrent right limb weakness, accompanying slurred speech, and right facial paresthesia.
Temperature-sensitive materials are increasingly of deep interest to researchers. Ion imprinting technology is widely used in the field of metal recovery. In order to solve the problem of rare earth metal recovery, we designed a temperature-sensitive dual-imprinted hydrogel adsorption product (CDIH) with chitosan as the matrix, N-isopropylacrylamide as a thermally responsive monomer, and La and Y as the co-templates.

In this paper, a water-recyclable chitosan-based La-imprinted thermoresponsive hydrogel (CLIT) was prepared to accumulate La from solution. The CLIT was characterized by DSC, FITR, Raman spectroscopy, XPS, and SEM, which revealed obvious reversible thermosensitivity and imprinted sites of La ions.

MicroRNA (miR)- 140-5p is associated with cerebral ischemia and poststroke depression, but its relationship with VCI remains unknown.

Methods: A total of 238 consecutive patients with acute cerebral infarction were recruited. PSD was assessed at 2 weeks and at 3 months after stroke onset.
Background: The expression of miR-140-5p increased in the brain tissue of a bilateral common carotid artery ligation model, while the overexpression of miR-140-5p significantly decreased the number of neurons. The luciferase report experiment in the previous study proved that miR-140-5p negatively regulated one of the potential targets of Prospero-related homeobox 1 (Prox1). Therefore, we want to investigate the effect of miR-140-5p on the proliferation and differentiation of neural stem cells (NSCs) and the underlying mechanism.

Purpose: To explore the relationship between the monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR) and depression three months after acute ischemic stroke.
Patients And Methods: From May 2013 to September 2014, 203 patients with acute ischemic stroke were recruited within 7 days post-stroke from Shanghai Ruijin Hospital and blood samples were collected after admission. The Hamilton Depression Scale and Clinical Review were evaluated at 3 months after stroke.
Endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) are multipotential stem cells considered to have immense clinical value for revascularization. However, the clinical application of EPCs has been hampered by their clinical potency in ischemic anoxic environments. This study aimed to explore the effect of microRNA-210 (miR-210) on EPCs under oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD) conditions.

A total of 251 consecutive patients with acute ischemic stroke were recruited. They were divided into three groups depending on whether PSD had occurred at 2 weeks or 3 months since stroke: early-onset PSD, late-onset PSD, and non-depressed group.

In sustainable smart cities, power saving is a severe challenge in the energy-constrained Internet of Things (IoT). Efficient utilization of limited multiple non-overlap channels and time resources is a promising solution to reduce the network interference and save energy consumption. In this paper, we propose a joint channel allocation and time slot optimization solution for IoT.
