Article Synopsis
- A TiO/InS heterojunction film was synthesized using a one-step hydrothermal method and used for photocathodic protection (PCP) of 304 stainless steel (304SS).
- The composite photoelectrode, which combines octahedral InS and TiO, significantly improved PCP performance compared to using pure InS or TiO alone, especially when incorporating 0.3 g of P25 titanium dioxide.
- The enhanced performance is attributed to the Z-scheme heterojunction structure that improves electron transfer and the synergistic effects from the mixed crystalline phases of TiO, which allows for more effective electron gathering and transfer to the protected metals.
