Therapeutic human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA vaccine is an attractive option to control existed HPV infection and related lesions. The two early viral oncoproteins, E6 and E7, are continuously expressed in most HPV-related pre- and cancerous cells, and are ideal targets for therapeutic vaccines. We have previously developed an HPV 16 DNA vaccine encoding a modified E7/HSP70 (mE7/HSP70) fusion protein, which demonstrated significant antitumor effects in murine models.

Methods: This study enrolled 9,283, 164,357, and 5,334 hypertensives from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), UK Biobank (UKBB), and Shanghai Pudong cohort. The related outcomes for CVD were defined by multivariate Cox proportional hazards models, Generalized Additive Models and Mendelian randomization analysis.
Background: The C-reactive protein-triglyceride glucose index (CTI) is a promising new marker for evaluating the severity of inflammation. Endometriosis (EM) is a prevalent chronic inflammatory condition influenced by estrogen, primarily affecting women of reproductive age. However, no study has demonstrated an association between the CTI and EM.

Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 718 elderly ESCC patients treated with RT or CRT at 10 medical centers (3JECROG) from January 2004 to November 2016. We identified independent prognostic factors using univariate and multifactorial Cox regression to construct a nomogram model.
Background: The heterogeneity of cognitive impairments in schizophrenia has been widely observed. However, reliable cognitive boundaries to differentiate the subgroups remain elusive. The key challenge for cognitive subtyping is applying an integrated and standardized cognitive assessment and understanding the subgroup-specific neurobiological mechanisms.

Chronic diarrhea is commonly linked to inflammatory processes within the gut. Thus, this study aimed to explore the potential link between DII and chronic diarrhea.

However, the adherence to AET among BrCa patients is poor, and there is no scale to measure adherence to AET or the reasons for non-adherence among BrCa patients in mainland China. The aim of this study was to assess the psychometric properties of the simple Chinese version of the Medication Adherence Reasons (MAR) scale in BrCa patients undergoing AET.

Background: This study aimed to analyze the impact of preoperative cervical length before cervical cerclage on the extension of gestational days in patients with various diagnostic types of cervical insufficiency, including obstetric history-based diagnosis, ultrasound-based diagnosis, and physical examination-based diagnosis.
Methods: 168 patients were segregated into four categories based on cervical length: 0-0.4 cm, 0.
Background: The effects of acute kidney injury (AKI) on liver-related outcomes in patients with hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection remain unclear. The study aimed to evaluate the association between AKI with liver-related mortality and complications in patients with HBV infection.
Methods: The multicenter, retrospective cohort study included Chinese adults with HBV infection from 24 regional central hospitals between January 2000 and December 2022.
Up to 50-70% of patients with liver cirrhosis develop hepatic encephalopathy (HE), which is closely related to gut microbiota dysbiosis, with an unclear mechanism. Here, by constructing gut-brain modules to assess bacterial neurotoxins from metagenomic datasets, we found that phenylalanine decarboxylase (PDC) genes, mainly from Ruminococcus gnavus, increased approximately tenfold in patients with cirrhosis and higher in patients with HE. Cirrhotic, not healthy, mice colonized with R.

We have designed a dual adeno-associated viral vector encoding a split-intein adenine base editor to correct the most common mutation in ABCA4 (c.5882G>A, p.

Using ctDNA data from IMpower150 study, we examined genetic changes in metastatic non-squamous NSCLC post-first-line immunotherapy. Mutations were most frequently detected in TP53, KRAS, SPTA1, FAT3, and LRP1B at baseline and during treatment.

Disulfidptosis, a novel form of programmed cell death, has recently been identified; however, the effects and roles of disulfidptosis-related genes (DR-DEGs) in OA remain unclear. We obtained six OA datasets from the GEO database, using four as training sets and two as validation sets.

Broadening the genetic base of commercial alfalfa germplasm with these valuable genetic variations can be achieved by screening the extensive genetic diversity in germplasm collections and enabling maximal recombination among selected genotypes. In this study, we assessed the genetic diversity and differentiation of germplasm pools selected in northern U.

Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and non-occupational post-exposure Prophylaxis (nPEP) are effective interventions to reduce HIV transmission in high-risk populations. This study assessed awareness and utilization levels of PrEP and nPEP among young MSM (YMSM) aged 18-29 in China and examined associated factors.

However, the surfaces of the implants are relatively rough, and bacteria can easily adhere to them; increasing the risk of postoperative infection. Therefore, we prepared a near-infrared photoresponsive nano-TiO coating on the surface of an SLM 3D-printed titanium alloy sheet (Ti6Al4V) via a hydrothermal method to evaluate its antibacterial properties and biocompatibility.

Specific yield (S) is an essential hydrogeological parameter in groundwater-related modeling and estimation. In this study, we proposed several new analytical expressions of S to characterize the nonlinear variations of S under shallow groundwater environments, encompassing S for three-layered soil, transition zone S, and flux-dependent S (in Boussinesq-type equation). The proposed S expression for three-layered soils expanded the applicability of previous expressions for homogeneous soil.

The aim of this study was to investigate the differences of quality indexes, bacterial community and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) of industrial-scale tiger skin chicken feet (TSCF) under air packaging (AP) and vacuum packaging (VP). The results showed that the pH, total volatile basic nitrogen, total number of bacterial colony, and sensory scores in VP group changed less than those in AP group during the storage period. Different packaging conditions also had significant effects on bacterial community at the genus levels.

Herein, a novel zwitterionic double network (DN) hydrogel was developed by polymerizing arylamide and sulfobetaine methacrylate in an alginate-Ca system. This hydrogel exhibited enhanced mechanical properties, including a maximum 2087 % breaking elongation and 135 ± 12 kJ/m toughness, significantly outperforming the current zwitterionic DN hydrogels, which typically exhibit less than 1800 % breaking elongation, capable of supporting 150 g-136 times its own weight.
