The rapid global spread of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has seriously threatened human life and health. Effects of traditional Chinese medicine, Lianhua Qingwen, combined with western medicine remains controversial for treatment of COVID-19. Evidence to support use of Lianhua Qingwen in COVID-19 is lacking.

Intraoperative Fraction of Inspired Oxygen and Lung Injury in Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting: Study Protocol for a Randomised Controlled Trial.

Objective: Postoperative pulmonary complications are a series of disorders that can contribute to respiratory distress and prolonged mechanical ventilation postoperatively. We hypothesise that a liberal oxygenation strategy during cardiac surgery leads to a higher incidence of postoperative pulmonary complications than a restrictive oxygenation strategy.

Methods: This study is a prospective, observer-blinded, centrally randomised and controlled, international multicentre clinical trial.

Purpose: Remimazolam tosylate (HR-7056) is a novel ester-type benzodiazepine with ultrafast onset of effect. The compound is being developed for sedation induction and maintenance during anesthesia. It was approved for procedural anesthesia in December 2019 by the National Medical Products Administration of China.

Intractable mechanical hemolytic anemia complicating mitral valve surgery: a case series study.

Background: Intractable, mechanical hemolytic anemia (IMHA) is a rare catastrophic complication following mitral valve surgery. We analyzed patient characteristics and IMHA management by reoperations after mitral valve surgery.

Methods: We collected medical records from mitral valve patients requiring reoperation due to IMHA.

Population Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic Model-Guided Dosing Optimization of a Novel Sedative HR7056 in Chinese Healthy Subjects.

HR7056 is a new benzodiazepine, showing more faster acting onset and recovery than currently available short-acting sedatives. To avoid inadequate anesthesia and predict return of cognition, allowing for immediate neurological evaluation, HR7056 pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics were characterized in Chinese healthy subjects. We report on modeling of the data and simulations of dosage regimens for future study.

Confirmation of laryngeal mask airway placement by ultrasound examination: a pilot study.
