Cardiac fibrosis characterized by aberrant activation of cardiac fibroblasts impairs cardiac contractile and diastolic functions, inducing the progression of the disease towards its terminal phase, resulting in the onset of heart failure. Therefore, the inhibition of cardiac fibrosis has become a promising treatment for cardiac diseases. The ovarian follicle-stimulating hormone folliculin (FLCN) plays a significant role in various biological processes, such as lysosome function, mitochondrial synthesis, angiogenesis, ciliogenesis and autophagy.

Currently, research on optic nerve injury predominantly focuses on the retina and optic nerve, but emerging evidence suggests that optic nerve injury also affects advanced visual structures like the superior colliculus (SC) and primary visual cortex (V1 region). However, the exact mechanisms have not been fully explored. This study aims to investigate the characteristics and mechanisms of pathology in the SC and V1 region after optic nerve crush (ONC) to deepen our understanding of the central mechanism of visual injury.

The core-shell structure often exhibits unique properties, resulting in superior physical and chemical performance distinct from individual component in the field of photocatalysis. However, traditional prepared methods such as template synthesis and layer-by-layer self-assembly are relatively complex. Therefore, it is necessary to explore an efficient and expedient approach.

The integration of interface engineering and vacancy engineering was a feasible way to develop highly efficient electrocatalysts toward water electrolysis. Herein, we designed CoSe/MoSe heterojunction nanosheets with abundant Se vacancies (V-CoSe/MoSe) for electrocatalytic water splitting. In the V-CoSe/MoSe electrocatalyst, the electrons more easily transferred from CoSe to MoSe, and interface engineering not only modulated the electronic structure, but also supplied more heterointerfaces and catalytic sites.

Two-dimensional/two-dimensional (2D/2D) heterojunctions are considered to be an effective strategy for forming strong interface effects and facilitating photogenerated carrier separation. However, it is usually limited by the size mismatch of the materials, even at the expense of its redox capability. Herein, 2D/2D S-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst BiMoO/Zn-TCPP (BMO/ZTP) composed of 2D BiMoO and 2D Zn-TCPP (TCPP: tetrakis (4-carboxyphenyl) porphyrin) (MOFs) was constructed by in-situ self-assembly growth strategy.

This study aimed to identify and quantify free fatty acids (FFAs), secretory phospholipase A2 group IIa (sPLA2-IIa) and cytosolic phospholipase A2 (cPLA2) in serum of superior limbic keratoconjunctivitis (SLK) patients and explored the association between FFAs, sPLA2-IIa and cPLA2 variations and SLK. Targeted metabolomic analysis of FFAs in serum was performed by gas chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS) analysis on 16 SLK patients (43.88 ± 7.

Auditory neuropathy (AN) is a unique type of language developmental disorder, with no precise rate of genetic contribution that has been deciphered in a large cohort. In a retrospective cohort of 311 patients with AN, pathogenic and likely pathogenic variants of 23 genes were identified in 98 patients (31.5% in 311 patients), and 14 genes were mutated in two or more patients.

Objective: KCNQ4 is one of the most common disease-causing genes involved in autosomal dominant non-syndromic hearing loss. We previously found that patients with KCNQ4 p.G285S exhibited a much more rapid deterioration in hearing loss than those with other KCNQ4 variants.

Exploring and developing novel strategies for constructing heterostructure electrocatalysts is still challenging for water electrolysis. Herein, a creative etching treatment strategy is adopted to construct NiSe /Ni Se heterostructure. The rich heterointerfaces between NiSe and Ni Se emerge strong electronic interaction, which easily induces the electron transfer from NiSe to Ni Se, and tunes the charge-state of NiSe and Ni Se.

This paper disseminated two formation control strategies for multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (multi-UAV) system of moving target tracking in a windy environment. The communication among UAVs is modeled by a directed graph. The first control strategy proposes a distributed dynamic error observer and a guidance law to make the system global uniform asymptotic stability when the wind disturbance is a known constant.

Heteroatoms Fe, F co-doped NiO hollow spheres (Fe, F-NiO) are designed, which simultaneously integrate promoted thermodynamics by electronic structure modulation with boosted reaction kinetics by nano-architectonics. Benefiting from the electronic structure co-regulation of Ni sites by introducing Fe and F atoms in NiO , as the rate-determined step (RDS), the Gibbs free energy of OH* intermediates (ΔG ) for Fe, F-NiO catalyst is significantly decreased to 1.87 eV for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) compared with pristine NiO (2.

Among various methods of developing hydrogen energy, electrocatalytic water splitting for hydrogen production is one of the approaches to achieve the goal of zero carbon emissions. It is of great significance to develop highly active and stable catalysts to improve the efficiency of hydrogen production. In recent years, the construction of nanoscale heterostructure electrocatalysts through interface engineering can not only overcome the shortcomings of single-component materials to effectively improve their electrocatalytic efficiency and stability but also adjust the intrinsic activity or design synergistic interfaces to improve catalytic performance.
