Robotic-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy: the Frankfurt technique.

The robotic technique, which was first introduced in laparoscopic heart surgery, has revolutionized laparoscopic surgery over the last 5 years. In May 2000, our department accomplished the first robot assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. Since that time we have performed more than 118 such procedures and several other laparoscopic operations using the robotic technique.
