LZ-R-5 (R-5), a strain with high epithelial adhesion and bioactive exopolysaccharide production, was isolated from Tibetan kefir grains. This study investigated its potential to alleviate intestinal inflammation using a DSS-induced colitis model in BALB/c mice. We integrated microbial diversity and serological analyses to assess changes in gut flora and cytokines following the R-5 treatment.

Leydig cells (LCs) injury is often irreversible upon discovery; hence, early identification of risk factors for injury is crucial. The ubiquitous plasticizer di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) in the environment has been shown to potentially cause damage to LCs. However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.

To date, no study has compared the efficacy between pure neoadjuvant and perioperative approaches, especially in patients who achieve substantial pathological responses.
Methods: In this retrospective study, patients with clinical stage II-IIIB NSCLC who achieved either major (MPR) or complete (pCR) pathological response after induction ICI plus chemotherapy followed by resection between 2019 and 2023 were identified from multicenter databases.

Nevertheless, the safety and feasibility of uniportal robotic lobectomy and lymphadenectomy require further validation.
Methods: The clinical data of 34 consecutive patients with lung cancer who underwent improved uniportal robotic-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (uRATS) at our hospital between November 2023 and June 2024 were reviewed retrospectively.
Background: Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) is an autosomal dominant condition caused by shortened D4Z4 repeat units in the subtelomeric region of 4q35, always on the 4qA haplotype, or due to variants in the SMCHD1 gene leading to hypomethylation of the D4Z4 macrosatellite DNA repeats.
Methods: To explore the potential genetic basis for suspected FSHD presenting with early onset in two siblings without evident family history of the disorder, whole genome sequencing (WGS) and optical genome mapping (OGM) were conducted on the affected individuals and their parents.
Results: The two siblings manifested severe and early-onset clinical features consistent with FSHD, initiating with facial muscle weakness that progressively spread downward since the age of four months.
Background: Currently, Vonoprazan (VPZ) and amoxicillin dual regimen (VA-dual) has not achieved satisfied efficacy as the first-line treatment for Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection in China. Thus, we aimed to determine the effect of VA-dual plus Saccharomyces boulardii (S.

Our study aims at investigating the potential relationships between various blood biomarkers and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in middle-aged and older men in European and East Asian population cohorts.
Methods: We included 229 022 male adults from the UK Biobank (UKB) and 20 284 male adults from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) in this study.

The irritation and adhesion of wound healing biomaterials to wet wounds should be addressed for achieving effective wound healing. In this study, a stable multifunctional hydrogels (BGs/HA suspension gels) were prepared using superfine powder of bioactive glasses (BGs), the biocompatible materials hyaluronic acid (HA) and carbomer940, which had good adhesion and low irritation properties for use in moist complex wounds. The average particle size of BGs/HA suspension gels was 13.

However, due to limitations in tunability and size of available MIR pump sources, it is difficult to achieve compact MIR mode-locked microcombs using traditional methods. Here, we propose the turnkey generation of MIR soliton and near-infrared second-harmonic microcombs in a single microresonator.

The hydrocyclone classification process has been utilized to reduce the amount of contaminated soil, followed by the application of the hydrocyclone leaching process for the remediation of residual contamination. The results of the hydrocyclone classification process revealed that smaller soil particles have higher concentrations of Cd and PCBs, consistent with the findings from the soil sieving process.

However, the relationship between synthesis parameter and performance is still unclear due to the overlook of exposed surface characteristics, limiting the mass-production and commercialization of MAPbI. Therefore, it is necessary to clarify the stability and photoelectric properties of different exposed surfaces of MAPbI under humid environment.

Based on the land use data and water quality monitoring section in 2020 in the 200 m, 500 m, 1 km, 2 km, 50 km, and 10 km riparian buffer area, the single-factor index evaluation method, random forest regression model, and BP neural network were used to quantify the response relationship between land use and landscape pattern of the upper Yellow River in Gansu province and water quality index and to carry out the basin water quality prediction based on land use landscape index data. The results showed that: ① through the single-factor index method, the major indicators of the total nitrogen (TN) in July and September, dissolved oxygen (DO), permanganate index, ammonia nitrogen (NH -N), total phosphorus (TP), and other surface indexes met the surface water environment class Ⅲ water quality standard.

Large metacarpal and phalangeal bone defects are a hot topic for orthopedic surgeons due to its high clinical incidence, disability rate, and postsurgical amputation rate, along with its difficult treatment, long treatment course, high cost, and poor effect, all of which have a negative impact on the appearance and function of the patient's hands. There are currently a variety of treatment options for large metacarpal and phalangeal bone defects, each with its own benefits and drawbacks. However, there is no treatment method capable of perfectly resolving all the problems of patients with these defects.

Methods: The present prospective, single endoscopist-blinded, randomized controlled study randomly assigned patients into two groups: PEG + Mizone group (3.
Background: Although stressor exposure early in life was known risk factor for telomere length (TL) attrition, limited literature explored it across generations. Furthermore, the effects of resilience have rarely been examined. Here, we examined whether the effects of intergenerational parent-child separation on offspring 1-year TL attrition vary by the levels of resilience.

Research has demonstrated that N6-methyladenosine (mA) modification of RNA significantly influences RNA metabolism, and dysregulation of mA is implicated in various human diseases. A clearer picture of how the divergent mA methylation patterns affect immunological microenvironment in pancreatic cancer is still unknown.

The key challenge in developing chemically circular, bio-based, high-performance TPEs rests on the complexity of TPE's block copolymer (BCP) structure involving block segments of different suitable monomers required to induce self-assembled morphologies responsible for performance as well as the control and monomer compatibility in their synthesis and the selectivity in their depolymerization. Here we demonstrate the utilization of bio-sourced δ-valerolactone (δVL) and its simple α-alkyl-substituted derivatives to produce all δVL-based polyester tri-BCP TPEs, which exhibit not only complete (closed-loop) chemical recyclability but also excellent toughness that is 2.

The chemical behaviors of alkali and alkaline earth metal hydrides including LiH, KH, MgH, CaH, and BaH under nitrogen plasma differ significantly from one another, exhibiting an ammonia production trend that contrasts with that observed under thermal conditions. A prominent feature of KH is its ability to facilitate plasma-assisted N fixation without generating H byproduct, showing high atomic economy in utilization of hydride ions for N reduction.
