There is scarce evidence of a relationship between positive and psychosomatic characteristics. This study aimed to examine the associations of somatic burden with psychological resources such as optimism, resilience, and general self-efficacy. Russian participants (n = 1020) completed measures of psychological resources at Time 1 and somatic symptoms at Time 2.

Polylactic acid (PLA), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), carbon fiber reinforced polyamide-6 (UltraX), thermoplastic polyurethane (PolyFlex), and polycarbonate (ePC) were used for printing. Each plastic core was rescanned using X-ray tomography to identify the effective porosity volumes.

This study examined the prevalence of somatic burden, latent profiles, and associated factors of somatic symptoms during the pandemic in a large sample of Russians. We used cross-sectional data from 10,205 Russians collected during October-December, 2021.

Direct quantitative wettability measurement methods include determination of the contact angle. One of the popular laboratory methods for its measurement is the sessile drop method, where the droplet of liquid is set onto the solid sample surface and the angle between liquid and solid phases in a 2D profile image is measured using a high-resolution optical subsystem.

Hydrogenolysis was performed under mild conditions over commercially available hydrogenation catalysts (5% Pd/C and 5% Pt/C). The present method is especially useful for the selective transformation of carboxylic acids and lactones into acetals.

This contribution discusses the technical specifications of the beamline in terms of optics, heat load management, monochromator motion control, and data acquisition and processing. Results of the beamline tests demonstrating the quality of the data obtainable on the instrument, possible energy scanning speeds, as well as long-term beamline stability are shown.

The experimental group of the research consisted of 27 women at the age of 70-79 years being at the social institution, named Regional State Autonomous Institution Social Welfare «Sedankinsky nursing house for the disabled and aged people» of Vladivostok, from 6 to 12 months. As well as the comparative group included 27 women at the age of 72-79 years, who became widowed and lived in families.

A conversion of 95% for diethyl diallylmalonate in dilute solution could be achieved within a few minutes, reaching TOF = 4173 min(-1), with very low loading of commercially available Ru catalysts that contained unsaturated NHC ligands. In general, only 50 to 250 ppm of the catalyst is required to achieve near-quantitative conversion into a broad variety of 5-16-membered heterocyclic compounds.

It represents the first example of a 1,2,3-triazolylidene with a 1,2,4-substitution pattern, thus opening a new subclass ('normal' 1,2,3-triazolylidenes) of sterically and electronically tunable NHCs.

Moreover, the dynamic behavior of complexes where R = 2-naphthyl and 2-thienyl was studied. (1)H NMR techniques were employed to establish the preferred conformations in solution for both complexes and the energy barrier for rotation around single (Ru=)CH-C(thienyl) bond was estimated (ΔG(≠) (303K) = 12.

Enantioselectivities of up to 99 % ee were obtained after ligand screening and optimization of the reaction conditions. The scope and limitation of the catalysts were shown in the synthesis of optically active tetrahydro-beta-carbolines and other benchmark N-acyl-1-aryl ethylamines.

After optimization of the reaction conditions and scale-up with a cationic Rh-Deguphos catalyst, a range of chiral alpha-amino acids could be produced by this new reaction in good yield and by up to 98% ee.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe enantioselectivity obtained from rhodium complex catalyzed hydrogenations conducted in water can often be increased considerably by the addition of amphiphiles. At present the reasons for this increase in selectivity are not fully understood. The application of pulsed field gradient spin echo NMR (PGSE-NMR) spectroscopy to determine the average diffusion coefficients of the catalysts in both known and novel examples of asymmetric hydrogenation shows definitively that the increase in enantioselectivity is coupled with an aggregation of the catalyst to the micelles.
