Eighty rats were subjected to either arterial ischaemia or venous congestion and applied to a bipedicled U-shaped superficial inferior epigastric artery (SIEA) flap with the administration of nitroglycerin, BoTA, or clopidogrel treatments. After 7 days, all rats were sacrificed for flap evaluation.

Obesity is a condition of chronic tissue inflammation and oxidative stress that poses as a risk factor for male infertility. Moringa oleifera oil extract is known to have cholesterol-lowering properties and a potential to treat obesity, while lycopene is a potent antioxidant. We hypothesize that Moringa or lycopene may improve male fertility markers in an animal model of diet-induced obesity.

This study, employing probit analyses and piecewise regression to estimate dose-response functions, estimated likelihoods of return to normal levels of sleepiness and daily functioning relative to nightly duration of CPAP.

This is a qualitative analysis of data from a multisite study of 156 participants with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). Reevaluation of the phenomena of the first night effect.

Thirty subjects, who were between the ages of 24 and 60 years and were free of sleep disorders, were evaluated for impotency by use of polysomnograms recorded over 2 consecutive nights. No statistical differences between the first and second nights' recordings were found in latency to rapid eye movement and stage 4 sleep, sleep efficiency, and movement time with or without awakening. No differences were noted in times spent in different sleep stages, nor between the first 3 h and the second 3 h of sleep across both nights of polysomnography.

Lithium encephalopathy: a clinical, psychiatric, and EEG evaluation.

The authors present three cases in which lithium, in combination with a neuroleptic, is implicated in inducing an organic brain syndrome. Subsequent withdrawal of lithium reversed the clinical and EEG picture in the two patients seen in follow-up.

The cytodifferential count in polycystic ovarian disease showed 30% to 40% mesothelial cells, 15% to 20% polymorphonuclear leukocytes, 15% to 20% lymphocytes, 10% to 15% squamous cells and 1% to 5% histiocytes.
