ChatGPT, a general artificial intelligence, has been recognized as a powerful tool in scientific writing and programming but its use as a medical tool is largely overlooked. The general accessibility, rapid response time and comprehensive training database might enable ChatGPT to serve as a diagnostic augmentation tool in certain clinical settings. The diagnostic process in neurology is often challenging and complex.

It was originally proposed that apoptosis plays a fundamental role in motoneuronal demise, nonetheless, later it became clear that other forms of regulated cell death, including necroptosis, pyroptosis, ferroptosis, and autophagy-dependent cell death, may also contribute to motoneuron loss.

In order to identify the difference of TP53 mutation spectrum in GCs in Eastern Europe and in East Asia, we sequenced TP53 in GCs from Eastern Europe, Lujiang (China), and Yokohama, Kanagawa (Japan) and identified the feature of TP53 mutations of GC in these regions.

Subjects And Method: In total, 689 tissue samples of GC were analyzed: 288 samples from East European populations (25 from Hungary, 71 from Poland and 192 from Romania), 268 from Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan and 133 from Lujiang, Anhui province, China.

Combined ensiling and hydrothermal processing as efficient pretreatment of sugarcane bagasse for 2G bioethanol production.

Background: Ensiling cannot be utilized as a stand-alone pretreatment for sugar-based biorefinery processes but, in combination with hydrothermal processing, it can enhance pretreatment while ensuring a stable long-term storage option for abundant but moist biomass. The effectiveness of combining ensiling with hydrothermal pretreatment depends on biomass nature, pretreatment, and silage conditions.

Results: In the present study, the efficiency of the combined pretreatment was assessed by enzymatic hydrolysis and ethanol fermentation, and it was demonstrated that ensiling of sugarcane bagasse produces organic acids that can partly degrade biomass structure when in combination with hydrothermal treatment, with the consequent improvement of the enzymatic hydrolysis of cellulose and of the overall 2G bioethanol process efficiency.

Combination of ensiling and fungal delignification as effective wheat straw pretreatment.

Background: Utilization of lignocellulosic feedstocks for bioenergy production in developing countries demands competitive but low-tech conversion routes. White-rot fungi (WRF) inoculation and ensiling are two methods previously investigated for low-tech pretreatment of biomasses such as wheat straw (WS). This study was undertaken to assess whether a combination of forced ensiling with Lactobacillus buchneri and WRF treatment using a low cellulase fungus, Ceriporiopsis subvermispora, could produce a relevant pretreatment effect on WS for bioethanol and biogas production.

Giant gastrointestinal stromal tumor of the stomach: a challenging diagnostic and therapeutically approach.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are rare but challenging tumors regarding the diagnosis and therapy. The symptomatology depends on the tumor size and location, and can be totally non-specific, as in the present case. We present the case of a 76-year-old female that was hospitalized with postprandial nausea and vomiting.

Geographic particularities in incidence and etiopathogenesis of sporadic gastric cancer.

It is known that geographical differences in the prevalence and etiopathogenesis of gastric cancer exist across the world. Eastern Europe and East Asia are two of the largest endemic areas of gastric cancer in the world, yet there are few studies comparing its features in these two regions. Based on our experience and literature data, we performed a review that is mainly focused on the etiology and pathogenesis of sporadic gastric cancer and its geographic particularities.

Aberrant metastatic behavior and particular features of early gastric cancer.

In this paper, we have focused on the metastatic behavior of EGC and its particularities. The main factors that are currently considered as predictors of the metastatic behavior and that are used in the therapeutic decision (endoscopic resection vs surgical removal) are the tumor size (upper or bellow 2 cm), depth of infiltration, angiolymphatic invasion, the presence or absence of ulceration, and histologic type (undifferentiated vs differentiated carcinomas). However, most of the metastatic cases were published as case reports or case series.

Reliable national data on waste generation and composition that will inform effective planning on waste management in Ghana is absent. To help obtain this data on a regional basis, selected households in each region were recruited to obtain data on rate of waste generation, physical composition of waste, sorting and separation efficiency and per capita of waste. Single skip metastasis in sentinel lymph node: In an early gastric cancer.

Although there is a practical approach to the intraoperative detection of sentinel lymph nodes (SLNs), such a procedure is not included in the European surgical protocol. Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is a rare, highly aggressive skin tumour. In 2008, a Merkel cell polyomavirus (MC) was identified in MCCs as a potential etiological factor of MCC. Hereditary diffuse gastric cancer--An overview.

The incidence of gastric cancer varies by up to ten fold throughout the world, and the geographic distribution of hereditary cases is not well explored. Familial clustering is seen in 10% of cases, and approximately 3% of all gastric cancers develop due to hereditary diffuse gastric cancer (HDGC). In this review, the characteristics of HDGC are presented according to molecular particularities, geographic distribution, and other parameters.

A click approach to novel D-ring-substituted 16α-triazolylestrone derivatives and characterization of their antiproliferative properties.

A simple and efficient synthesis of novel, D-ring substituted estrone derivatives containing a 16α-triazolyl moiety is described. Two epimeric azido alcohols (16α-azido-17α-hydroxy and 16α-azido-17β-hydroxy) of estra-1,3,5(10)-triene-3-methyl ether were prepared, followed by copper(I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition with various terminal alkynes. The steroidal triazoles were obtained in high yields and their activities against three human cancer cell lines (HeLa, MCF7 and A431) were screened.

Mixed adenoneuroendocrine carcinoma of gastrointestinal tract: report of two cases.

Mixed adenoneuroendocrine carcinoma (MANEC) is a rare tumor of the gastrointestinal tract that consists of a dual adenocarcinomatous and neuroendocrine differentiation, each component representing at least 30% of the tumor. To date, only seven cases have been reported in the cecum, and less than 40 in the stomach. Our first case was diagnosed in a 74-years-old female as a polypoid lesion of the cecum with direct invasion in the transverse colon, without lymph node metastases.

Increasing number of early-onset gastric carcinomas (GCs) and controversial results regarding the differences among young and older patients with this type of cancer are the reasons why correlation of clinicopathological factors with molecular markers is necessary. The aim of our study was to compare the demographic, clinical and immunohistochemical (IHC) aspects in Romanian patients with GC diagnosed below and above 45 years old. In 191 samples provided from patients with GC, the clinicopathological parameters were correlated with a panel of 15 antibodies: E-cadherin, HER-2, VEGF, CD31, CD105, COX-2, maspin, bax, bcl-2, p53, Ki67, MLH-1, MSH-2, mena protein and vimentin.

Comparison of different pretreatment strategies for ethanol production of West African biomass.

Pretreating lignocellulosic biomass for cellulosic ethanol production in a West African setting requires smaller scale and less capital expenditure compared to current state of the art. Clinical significance of carcinoembryonic antigen expression of acellular mucin pools after preoperative chemoradiotherapy of rectal carcinoma.

Introduction: Although several studies have shown that the presence of acellular mucin pools in surgical specimens with rectal carcinomas examined after preoperative chemoradiotherapy indicated complete response to therapy, the proper meaning of these pools has yet to be elucidated. The aims of this study were to analyze the immunoprofile of acellular mucin pools and to review the relevant literature.

Methods: In 30 consecutive rectal cancers that were preoperatively treated with chemoradiotherapy, the clinicopathologic features were correlated with the immunoexpression of AE1/AE3 keratin and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA).

Ensiling and hydrothermal pretreatment of grass: consequences for enzymatic biomass conversion and total monosaccharide yields.

Background: Ensiling may act as a pretreatment of fresh grass biomass and increase the enzymatic conversion of structural carbohydrates to fermentable sugars. However, ensiling does not provide sufficient severity to be a standalone pretreatment method. Here, ensiling of grass is combined with hydrothermal treatment (HTT) with the aim of improving the enzymatic biomass convertibility and decrease the required temperature of the HTT.

Regio- and stereoselective access to novel ring-condensed steroidal isoxazolines.

Novel 5α-androstanes containing an isoxazoline moiety condensed to ring A or D were efficiently synthetized by 1,3-dipolar cycloadditions of aryl nitrile oxides to steroidal α,β-unsaturated ketones. During the ring closures, regioisomers in which the O terminus of the nitrile oxide dipoles is attached to the β-carbon of the dipolarophile were formed in a stereoselective manner to furnish exclusively 1α,2α- or 15β,16β-condensed heterocycles. The cyclic enone moiety of the six-membered ring A proved to be less reactive than that of the five-membered ring D, but all the reactions were affected significantly by the substitution pattern of the nitrile oxide.
