Periodic chains of nonlinear oscillators are known to support solitonic solutions within a specific range of physical parameters when damping effect is considered. This Letter investigates the dynamics of stationary solitons in damped nonlinear lattices under external excitation, focusing on the influence of impurities related to the natural frequency of the oscillators. We demonstrate experimentally and numerically that incorporating impurities into externally driven periodic lattices can expand the solitonic stability diagram under high-damping areas and near the Hopf bifurcation of periodic structures.

This nonlinear phenomenon is tuned by adjusting the gaps between the moving magnets of the structure, enabling 1:1 and 2:1 IR. The experimental results prove that the activation of 2:1 IR with a realistic excitation amplitude allows the improvement of both the frequency bandwidth (BW) and the harvested power (HP) by 300% and 100%, respectively compared to the case away from IR.

As the width of the flexure springs is a critical parameter in the MEMS design, it is necessary to investigate the impact of the width variations on the stiffness coupling, which can generate a quadrature signal. To do so, we developed a method to determine the evolution of the stiffness matrix of the gyroscope springs with respect to the variation of the bending beams width of the springs through finite element analysis (FEA).

Indeed, we show, both theoretically and experimentally, that this condition yields higher sensitivities and similar sensitivity ranges than that of resonance peak tracking while being less time consuming than a classical open-loop configuration due to the absence of frequency sweep. The system is made of a quartz resonator and a hardware that includes a resonator and the coupling.

The median age at diagnosis was 43 years, and 80% were less than 60 years old; 75% of patients were male. Cytogenetic analysis was integrated into the World Health Organization 2008 classification and showed that the percentages of normal and abnormal karyotypes were similar, accounting for 48.

In Tunisia, however, it is still underdiagnosed as there is no validated screening tool. The aim of this study was to translate and to validate a Tunisian version of the CAM-ICU.

The partial differential equations are discretized using the differential quadrature method (DQM) and the resulting coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) are solved using the harmonic balance method (HBM) coupled with the asymptotic numerical method (ANM). It is shown that the initial deflection has an impact on the static behavior of the CMUT by increasing its pull-in voltage up to 45%.

Significant differences were observed among the genotypes, and polyethylene glycol (PEG) levels used, and their interactions were however, significant for all the studied characters.

The use of plant cell and tissue culture offers a means to investigate the physiological and biochemical processes involved in the adaptation to osmotic stress. We employed a new proteomic approach to further understand the response of calli to dehydration induced by polyethylene glycol (PEG6000).

Patients And Methods: A total of 100 D-negative and C/E+ samples were analyzed by RHD genotyping using an initial test for RHD exon 10. In case of a positive reaction, further molecular investigations including real time quantitative PCR, allele specific PCR and nucleotide sequencing were done to elucidate the RHD involved mechanisms.
Background: The choice of a molecular test for first intention determination of paternal RHD zygosity, before entering into invasive diagnostics, is important for the management of pregnancies at risk of haemolytic disease of the foetus and newborn related to anti-RhD.
Materials And Methods: RHD zygosity was evaluated in 370 RH:1 Tunisian donors by polymerase chain reaction - sequence-specific polymorphism (PCR-SSP) analysis and polymerase chain reaction - restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) amplification of hybrid Rhesus box and by real time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RQ-PCR) specific for RHD exon 5. To evaluate the accuracy of molecular tests in the cases of discordant results, the ten exons of RHD and Rhesus boxes were amplified by PCR and sequenced.
Seed husk extracts of Convolvulus tricolor L. (Convolvulaceae) afforded six compounds, identified for the first time from this plant: isorhamnetin 3-O-beta-D-galactopyranoside (1), isorhamnetin 3-O-beta-D-(6"-acetyl)-galactopyranoside (2), isorhamnetin 3-O-robinobioside (3), 3,4-di-O-caffeoylquinic acid (4), gentisic acid 5-O-glucoside (5), and scopoletin (6). Separation of compounds was carried out by CC and CPC.

Objectives: We proposed to determine the genotype frequencies of the RHD locus using a PCR-SSP method and assignment of the most probable genotype (MPG) and analyse the concordance between the two methods.
Methods: The complete Rh phenotype and the frequencies of RH haplotypes were determined on 506 blood donors.
In order to compensate for the loss of performance when scaling resonant sensors down to NEMS, it proves extremely useful to study the behavior of resonators up to very high displacements and hence high nonlinearities. This work describes a comprehensive nonlinear multiphysics model based on the Euler-Bernoulli equation which includes both mechanical and electrostatic nonlinearities valid up to displacements comparable to the gap in the case of an electrostatically actuated doubly clamped beam. Moreover, the model takes into account the fringing field effects, significant for thin resonators.

The study shows the presence of closed trachea in the 3 pairs of valvulae and a secretory system in the 2 pairs of valvulae interlocked into a piercing stylus. We discuss the role of trachea and a secretory system leading to excretory pores on the lancets of valvulae which occupy very precisely the site of sensory chemoreceptors known in more advanced species lacking this secretory system.
