Corneal injuries play a significant role in global visual impairment, underscoring the demand for innovative biomaterials with specific attributes such as adhesion, cohesion, and regenerative potential. In this study, we have developed a biocompatible bioadhesive for corneal reconstruction. Derived from Collagen type I, naturally present in human corneal stromal tissue, the bioadhesive was cross-linked with modified polyethylene glycol diacrylate (PEGDA-DOPA), rendering it curable through visible light exposure and exhibiting superior adhesion to biological tissues even in wet conditions.

The prime goal of the present research is to synthesize pristine zinc sulfide (PZS) and cobalt (Co)-doped zinc sulfide (CDZS) thin films with different doping concentrations (DC) via chemical bath deposition (CBD) method. The effect of Co-doping on the surface topography, structural, optical and dc-electrical behaviors of PZS thin films has been ascertained. Scanning electron microscopy images exhibited nearly sphere-shaped agglomerates of grains dispersed throughout the surface with cracks in PZS thin film whereas cracks were absent in CDZS.

Despite the advent of tissue engineering (TE) for the remodeling, restoring, and replacing damaged cardiovascular tissues, the progress is hindered by the optimal mechanical and chemical properties required to induce cardiac tissue-specific cellular behaviors including migration, adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation. Cardiac extracellular matrix (ECM) consists of numerous structural and functional molecules and tissue-specific cells, therefore it plays an important role in stimulating cell proliferation and differentiation, guiding cell migration, and activating regulatory signaling pathways. With the improvement and modification of cell removal methods, decellularized ECM (dECM) preserves biochemical complexity, and bio-inductive properties of the native matrix and improves the process of generating functional tissue.
