Two cases of a rare hereditary disease, epidermolysis bullosa, congenital and acquired, are presented. The disease manifests by vesicular eruptions over the skin and mucous membrane of the oropharynx and oesophagus, alternating with sympton-free periods. The recurrent crops of vesicles heal by scarring and progressive stenosis of the pharynx and oesophagus.

Roentgenographic findings in typhoid fever.

Barium meal examinations have been performed on 20 patients with proved or clinically suspected typhoid fever. There were distinct abnormalities in the terminal ileum early in the febrile stage of the disease. The abnormality was different in a single case of relapse of typhoid.

Normally, in the sagittal projection, the descending duodenum is situated to the right of the spine. There is a great range of variation in its position, so that a slight medial displacement by an enlarged liver or a mass adjacent to the latter cannot be diagnosed unless either an extrinsic pressure effect is demonstrated or a previous study is available for comparison. On a single study, displacement of the duodenum by an enlarged liver is suspected whenever the descending duodenum overlies the spine.
