Mounting evidence has revealed the interrelationship between thyroid and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) to explain the thyroid dysfunction and autoimmune thyroid disorders observed after coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). There are limited reports of thyroid dysfunction after SARS-CoV-2 vaccination. We report a case of a 40-year-old Chinese woman who developed Graves' disease after BNT162b2 mRNA vaccine.

In patients with diabetes who have adequate renal function, SGLT2 inhibitors reduce hyperglycemia by blocking renal glucose reabsorption and increasing urinary glucose excretion. These agents are indicated for the treatment of hyperglycemia in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), as an adjunct to diet and exercise.

We conducted a genome-wide association study (GWAS) and a replication study with a total of 123 southern Chinese with TPP (cases) and 1,170 healthy controls and identified a susceptibility locus on chromosome 17q24.3 near KCNJ2 (rs312691: odds ratio (OR) = 3.

Clinical risk factor assessment with or without BMD measurement was shown to be an effective predictor of 10-yr risk of osteoporotic fracture and provides a more accessible tool for patient evaluation.
Introduction: Asian-specific data on risk factors for osteoporosis remain sparse.
Background: Physical and biological risk factors for vitamin D inadequacy are known; however, cultural- and population-specific behaviours and attitudes that influence these risk factors, particularly among Asian people, are less well documented. To understand more about prevailing attitudes and behaviour toward sunlight and knowledge of vitamin D among a population at greater risk of impaired vitamin D status, poor bone health and osteoporosis, we conducted a telephone interview survey of 547 middle-aged and elderly Chinese women living in Hong Kong.
Methods: All telephone interviews were conducted using the Computer Assisted Telephone Technique and target respondents were selected by random sampling.
Context: Previous male contraceptive studies showed that progestins enhance spermatogenesis suppression by androgens in men.
Objective: We compared the efficacy of spermatogenesis suppression by the combination of levonorgestrel (LNG) with testosterone (T) implants to that by T implants alone in two different ethnic groups.
Design: This was a randomized trial performed in two centers with two treatment groups.
To examine the performance of a self-report diary to assess psychosexual function in hypogonadal men, 2 groups of eugonadal men and 2 groups of hypogonadal men were asked to record and score parameters for sexual desire, sexual enjoyment, sexual performance, sexual activity, and positive and negative moods daily for 7 days before a clinic visit (data set 1 and 2). The hypogonadal men were also assessed after testosterone replacement and some of the eugonadal men were studied while they were on placebo treatment. In this retrospective analysis, sexual function parameters (sexual desire, performance, and activity score) in the diary discriminated between the hypogonadal and eugonadal men with all measures significantly lower in hypogonadal men (all parameters P <.
