The aggressive infectious nature of SARS-CoV-2, its rapid spread, and the emergence of mutations necessitate investigation of factors contributing to differences in SARS-CoV-2 susceptibility and severity. The role of genetic variations in the human HLA continues to be studied in various populations in terms of both its effect on morbidity and clinical manifestation of illness. The study included 484 COVID-19 convalescents (northwest Russia residents of St.

Background: The adaptive antiviral immune response requires interaction between CD8+ T cells, dendritic cells, and Th1 cells for controlling SARS-CoV-2 infection, but the data regarding the role of CD8+ T cells in the acute phase of COVID-19 and post-COVID-19 syndrome are still limited.

Methods: . Peripheral blood samples collected from patients with acute COVID-19 ( 71), convalescent subjects bearing serum SARS-CoV-2 N-protein-specific IgG antibodies ( 51), and healthy volunteers with no detectable antibodies to any SARS-CoV-2 proteins (HC, 46) were analyzed using 10-color flow cytometry.

Background: Humoral immunity requires interaction between B cell and T follicular helper cells (Tfh) to produce effective immune response, but the data regarding a role of B cells and Tfh in SARS-CoV-2 defense are still sparse.

Methods: Blood samples from patients with acute COVID-19 ( = 64), convalescents patients who had specific IgG to SARS-CoV-2 N-protein ( = 55), and healthy donors with no detectable antibodies to any SARS-CoV-2 proteins (HC, = 44) were analyses by multicolor flow cytometry.

Results: Patients with acute COVID-19 showed decreased levels of memory B cells subsets and increased proportion plasma cell precursors compared to HC and COVID-19 convalescent patients, whereas for the latter the elevated numbers of virgin naïve, Bm2' and "Bm3+Bm4" was found if compared with HC.

IgG is the most prominent marker of post-COVID-19 immunity. Not only does this subtype mark the late stages of infection, but it also stays in the body for a timespan of at least 6 months. However, different IgG subclasses have different properties, and their roles in specific anti-COVID-19 responses have yet to be determined.

Primary immunodeficiencies (PID) are a group of rare genetic disorders with a multitude of clinical symptoms. Characterization of epidemiological and clinical data via national registries has proven to be a valuable tool of studying these diseases. The Russian PID registry was set up in 2017, by the National Association of Experts in PID (NAEPID).

The electronic excited states of BF2 dipyrromethene (2BrDPM, DPMI, DPMII, PM567 and 4PhDPM) complexes were investigated using the extended multi-configuration quasi-degenerate at the second order of perturbation theory (XMCQDPT2) and the second-order approximate coupled-cluster (CC2) methods. The excitation energies calculated by CC2 are significantly overestimated by 0.42-0.

Ethylendiaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) substituted and diethylenetriaminopentaacetic acid (DTPA) substituted aminated free-base tetraphenylporphyrins (H2ATPP) and the corresponding lutetium(III) complexes have been studied computationally at the density functional theory (DFT) and second-order algebraic diagrammatic construction (ADC(2)) levels using triple-ξ basis sets augmented with polarization functions. The molecular structures were optimized using Becke's three-parameter hybrid functional (B3LYP). The electronic excitation spectra in the range of 400-700 nm were calculated using the ADC(2) and the linear-response time-dependent DFT methods.

In the framework of density functional theory the equilibrium geometry of the ground electronic state of monoamine tetraphenylporphyrin with the complexon of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid was found using B3LYP functional and 6-31G(d,p) basis set. Electronic absorption spectrum of this molecule in ethanol solution was measured in the range of 300-600nm and interpreted using the PCM/TDDFT method (with the B3LYP, CAMB3LYP, M06-2X functionals) with 6-31G(d,p) and 6-31++G(d,p) basis sets. The observed and calculated line positions and intensities are well agreed.

The paper characterizes placental growth factors in the third trimester of pregnancy. The placental expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and transforming growth factor-beta2 (TGFbeta2) was studied in miscarriage after 34-37 weeks pregnancy and during term labor. Chronic placental insufficiency was diagnosed in miscarriage.

The association of a ratio of blood porphyrin fraction concentrations in pregnant women with hyperandrogenism (HA) with the osmoresistance of red blood cells and the microviscosity of their membranes was studied. A cohort examination was made in parallel groups of 64 pregnant women aged 20 to 30 years at 28-36 weeks gestation. The levels of dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS) and testosterone were measured.

Dissemination, season variability, ways of infection, as well as main carriers of Lyme's disease and tick-borne encephalitis, reasons for the population contact with natural foci and ticks, age and socially professional status were shown to be extremely similar in patients with borreliosis and encephalitis in Leningrad Province. This fact indicates principal similarity of basic epidemiological properties in two etiologically different infections. A much higher morbidity level is characteristic of Lyme's disease.

The therapeutic, social and economic aspects of the efficacy of intense preoperative irradiation in combined therapy of breast cancer were analysed. It has been established that preoperative irradiation in the form of the fractionation of a single focal dose of 6 Gy every other day, the summary dose of 24 Gy within 8-10 days followed by surgery 1-3 days after irradiation does not either complicate its performance or the course of the postoperative period, and by the short- and long-term results it is no worse than the routine dose fractionation. Large dose fractionation saves the time of preoperative irradiation (10 days instead of 5-6 weeks), reduces the time of inpatients' stay (56-70 days instead of 90-100 days), enables most of the patients after treatment to resume work 1.
