Immunotactoid glomerulopathy (ITG), a condition characterised by highly organised microtubules on electron microscopy, and cryoglobulin glomerulopathy (CG) are rare forms of kidney injury that may be encountered in patients with cryoglobulinaemia. It has been proposed these two entities are part of the same disease process following observed clinical and histological similarities.

Phyllodes tumours (PTs) are rare fibroepithelial lesions of the breast that are classified as benign, borderline, or malignant. As little is known about the molecular underpinnings of PTs, current diagnosis relies on histological examination. However, accurate classification is often difficult, particularly for distinguishing borderline from malignant PTs.

In vitro-in vivo wound healing efficacy of Tridax Procumbens extract loaded Carboxymethylcellulose film.

In this work, Tridax Procumbens Extracts (TPE) were blended with Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), and film was developed through the casting method. The phytochemical screening of the TPE/CMC film was carried out and found the presence of carbohydrates, tannins, saponins, and cardiac glycosides. The presence of elements such as C, O, Na, P, Cl, K, Ca, Mn, and Nb in TP/CMC film was confirmed through EDX.

Commonly, the antioxidant and anticancer properties of a drug are linked together as antioxidants scavenge free radicals and prevent the cellular DNA damage which could result in cancer development.

Nanotechnology has attracted great attention from researchers in modern science because nanomaterials have innovative and superior physical, chemical, and biological properties, and they can be altered and modified accordingly. As particles get smaller, their surface area increases compared to their volume. Electrospinning is one of the advanced techniques to produce ultrathin nanofibers and membranes, and it is one of the best ways to create continuous nanomaterials with variable biological, chemical, and physical properties.

Fabrication, Characterization and In Vitro Assessment of Derived Hydroxyapatite Particulate-Filled Polymer Composite for Implant Applications.

This paper presents the formulation, characterization, and in vitro studies of polymer composite material impregnated with naturally derived hydroxyapatite (HA) particulates for biomedical implant applications. () seashells (SS) were collected, washed and cleaned, sun-dried for 24 h, and ground into powder particulates. The SS particulates of different weight percentages (0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 wt%)-loaded high-density polyethylene (HDPE) composites were fabricated by compression molding for comparative in vitro assessment.

A Rare Case of Bilateral Posterior Tibial Artery Aneurysm Presenting as Unilateral Acute Limb Ischemia.

True aneurysms of the tibial arteries are extremely rare. Of the few previously described tibial artery aneurysms, there are scant reports of isolated true aneurysms of the posterior tibial artery (PTA). In this report, we describe the second documented case of bilateral true PTA aneurysms.

Efficacy and safety of intraoperative intracameral mydriasis in manual small incision cataract surgery - A randomized controlled trial.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of intracameral mydriatic solution, as compared to preoperative topical mydriatics, in patients undergoing manual small incision cataract surgery (MSICS) under peribulbar anesthesia. To assess the sustainability of intracameral mydriasis in MSICS by monitoring pupil size at specific junctures during the surgery.

There is a need for simple but effective behaviour change interventions with the potential to be implemented within the cancer care pathway. Introduction: Bilirubin as an antioxidant and malondialdehyde (MDA) as an oxidant have been shown to be associated with various complications of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM).

Aims And Objectives: The aim was to measure the levels of serum bilirubin and MDA in type 2 DM patients with and without diabetic retinopathy (DR) and to correlate them with severity of DR.

Objectives: To compare rates of eye care visits and vision impairment among working-age adults with vision insurance vs without, among the total sample of Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey respondents and among a subsample of respondents who had diagnoses of glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration (ARMD), and/or cataract.

Design: Using the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey 2008 vision module data, we examined the likelihood of an eye care visit within the past year and of self reported visual impairment among 27 152 adults aged 40 to 65 years and among a subset of 3158 persons (11.6%) with glaucoma, ARMD, and/or cataract.

Objective: The objective of the study was to compare the effect of two different desensitizers on shear bond strength of two different fifth-generation single-bottle adhesive agents on dentin surface.

Materials And Methods: Sixty human premolars were taken and divided into six groups of 10 samples each. The first two groups were the control groups and were not pretreated with any desensitizer; the remaining four groups were the experimental groups and were pretreated with either Denshield™ or Sensodent-K™ desensitizer.

Pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE) is an inherited multisystem disorder that primarily affects the skin and is characterized by progressive calcification and degeneration of the elastic fibers. PXE has recently been found to be caused by mutations in the ATP-binding cassette transporter C6 (ABCC6) or the multidrug resistance-associated protein 6 (MRP6) genes. Perforating PXE is a rare presentation that is usually seen in the periumbilical area in obese multiparous black women; it has distinct clinical and histopathological features and there may or may not be systemic manifestations.
