Gum arabic (GA) is widely used as an emulsion stabilizer and edible coating and consists of a complex carbohydrate moiety with a rhamnosyl-glucuronate group capping the non-reducing ends. Enzymes that can specifically cleave the glycosidic chains of GA and modify their properties are valuable for structural analysis and industrial application. Cryogenic X-ray crystal structure of GA-specific L-rhamnose-α-1,4-D-glucuronate lyase from Fusarium oxysporum (FoRham1), belonging to the polysaccharide lyase (PL) family 42, has been previously reported.

However, the extent of its importance in the forensic diagnosis of acute ischemic heart diseases (AIHD), such as myocardial infarction (MI), remains uncertain. On the other hand, immunohistochemical analyses of fibronectin (FN) and the terminal complement complex (C5b-9) prove valuable in identifying myocardial ischemia that precedes necrosis during the postmortem diagnosis of sudden cardiac death (SCD).

Although PDGF receptor inhibitor imatinib mesylate was approved for the treating patients with unresectable or metastatic DFSP, disease progression was shown in 9.2% of the patients.

The physicochemical properties of the implant surface regulate initial contact osteogenesis by directly tuning the osteoprogenitor cells in the peri-implant environment. However, whether these implant surface properties can regulate osteoprogenitor cells distant from the implant remains unclear.

Material And Methods: We performed a gene expression and survival analysis based on the human cancer genome atlas database of ccRCC patients (TCGA-KIRC).
Results: The patients in the TCGA-KIRC (n = 537) were divided into two subgroups: NAA10-low and NAA10-high expression groups.
New applications of immunohistochemistry (IHC) expand rapidly due to the development of molecular analyses and an increased understanding of molecular biology. IHC becomes much more important as a screening or even a confirmatory test for molecular changes in cancer. The past decades have witnessed the release of many immunohistochemical markers of the new generation.

Prevention of recurrent events and improvements in symptoms/quality of life are also important for patients but are usually analyzed separately. Win statistics can integrate all these outcomes into a single composite end point, which is analyzed in hierarchical order, reflecting the clinical importance of each component.

Recent studies have shown that AQPs are expressed and play an oncogenic role in various cancers. However, the expression and role of Aquaporin 4 (AQP4) in colon cancer have not been investigated.

We aimed to investigate the time course of peak aortic jet velocity (Vmax) and AS progression risk according to baseline Vmax, particularly whether there is a Vmax threshold.
Methods: In a retrospective multicenter cohort study of patients on hemodialysis with aortic valve calcification, we investigated the time series of Vmax and the relationship between the baseline Vmax and progression to severe AS by analyzing longitudinal echocardiographic data.
Solid-state hydrogen storage materials are safe and lightweight hydrogen carriers. Among the various solid-state hydrogen carriers, hydrogen boride (HB) sheets possess a high gravimetric hydrogen capacity (8.5 wt%).

Atypical carcinoids account for approximately 10% of pulmonary neuroendocrine tumors and are categorized as moderately malignant. Treatment options for advanced-stage atypical carcinoids include everolimus, cytotoxic anticancer agents, and peptide receptor radionuclide therapy.

Neurotransmitter receptors are essential components of synapses for communication between neurons in the brain. Because the spatiotemporal expression profiles and dynamics of neurotransmitter receptors involved in many functions are delicately governed in the brain, in vivo research tools with high spatiotemporal resolution for receptors in intact brains are highly desirable. Covalent labeling by chemical reaction (chemical labeling) of proteins without genetic manipulation is now a powerful method for analyzing receptors in vitro.

Methods: The primary objective of this study was to generate a score-based prognostic model of recurrence-free survival in hrRCC. The study retrospectively evaluated 456 patients at two institutions who underwent radical surgery for nonmetastatic pT3-4 and/or N1-2 or pT2 and G4 disease.
Background: It remains unclear whether kidney function affects outcomes following immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI)-based combination therapy for advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC).
Methods: We retrospectively evaluated data of 167 patients with advanced RCC, including 98 who received ICI dual combination therapy (ie, immunotherapy [IO]-IO) and 69 who received ICI combined with tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) (ie, IO-TKI). In each regimen, treatment profiles were assessed according to the grade of chronic kidney disease (CKD) as defined by the KDIGO 2012 criteria.
Objectives: Currently available questionnaires have limited ability to measure physical activity (PA) using accelerometers as a gold standard. This study aimed to develop a PA questionnaire for middle-aged Japanese workers and propose a PA scoring system for predicting low moderate-to-vigorous PA (MVPA).
Methods: A total of 428 participants (median age 49 years; 75.
Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) and macular dystrophy (MD) cause severe retinal dysfunction, affecting 1 in 4000 people worldwide. This disease is currently assumed to be intractable, because effective therapeutic methods have not been established, regardless of genetic or sporadic traits. Here, we examined a RP mouse model in which the Prominin-1 (Prom1) gene was deficient and investigated the molecular events occurring at the outset of retinal dysfunction.

Methods: We retrospectively evaluated data of 56 advanced renal cell carcinoma patients treated with nivolumab plus ipilimumab, with a follow-up of at least 3 years. Survival, tumour response and adverse event profiles were assessed.
Aim: We compared survival and perioperative outcomes of robot-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (RAPN) and laparoscopic radical nephrectomy (LRN) for older patients (age 70 years or older) with stage 1 renal cell carcinoma (RCC).
Methods: This retrospective, single-center study included 260 patients who underwent RAPN and 44 patients who underwent LRN. The overall survival (OS) and perioperative outcomes were compared between these two groups using an inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW) analysis.
