Introduction: An increasing number of high voltage electric burn injuries in a typically younger patient collective of train surfers and climbers at our level I center for burns was recognized. The purpose of this study was a retrospective data evaluation and as a consequence the implementation of an awareness program against train surfing.
Material And Methods: In a retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data, 17 patients with high voltage injuries, who had been treated at our unit between January 2022 and January 2023, were identified.
Objectives: To investigate the 5-year intraoral evolution and kinetics of low-temperature degradation (LTD) of second-generation monolithic prostheses made of 3% molar yttrium-doped tetragonal zirconia polycrystal (3Y-TZP) and the influence of masticatory mechanical stresses and glaze layer on this evolution.
Methods: A total of 101 posterior tooth elements were included in this prospective clinical study, which comprised ex vivo LTD monitoring (at baseline, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, and 5 years) using Raman spectroscopy (n = 2640 monoclinic phase measurement points per evaluation time) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Four types of areas (1-2 mm surface, six on molars, and four on premolars) were analysed on each element surface: occlusal, axial, glazed, or unglazed.

It is ideal for the central posterior horn tears that are difficult using conventional techniques. Vertical tears, bucket handle tears, flap tears, and horizontal tears can be approached using a temporary "anchor stitch" to stabilize the meniscus before T-Fix repair.

Because many refractory hematologic patients have such underlying conditions, we decided to assess the usefulness of platelet crossmatching (in addition to HLA matching) in determining the posttransfusion corrected platelet count increment in eight medically complicated patients who received a total of 35 single-donor platelet transfusions. In this limited study, the predictive value of a negative crossmatch was only 55%, whereas that of a positive crossmatch was 88%.

Calcium binding sites having low affinity constants of less than 10(3) M-1 were titrated in native sarcomplasmic reticulum vesicles as well as in lipid deprived membranes and in the isolated calcium transport ATPase. Short time calcium binding measurements and the determination of the calcium binding heat allow to distinguish low affinity calcium binding sites located on the external surface of th sarcoplasmic reticulum membranes from those present in the section of the transport molecule directed to the vesicular space. The same number of internal binding sites was found for preparations deprived of their lipid content as well as of preparations depleted of their lipids and of their accessorial proteins.
