To investigate the characteristics of RET gene rearrangement revealed by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) in lung cancer. A total of 616 formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded surgical samples from lung adenocarcinomas with wild-type EGFR gene and no ALK protein expression by immunohistochemistry obtained at Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Beijing, China between December 2019 and April 2022 were included. Thirty-three tumors with RET gene rearrangement determined by imbalanced-based reverse-transcription droplet digital PCR (RT-ddPCR) were analyzed using break-apart FISH.

Background: NUP155 was reported to involve breast invasive carcinoma and hepatocellular carcinoma. We hypothesized that NUP155 and NDC1impacted the progression of NSCLC.
Methods: The dataset was analyzed to find differentially expressed genes.
Homologous recombination defects (HRD) render cells fail to repair DNA double-strand break (DSB), which causes synthetic lethality in these cells with punch by poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors (PARPi). Here, we reveal a receptor tyrosine kinase, AXL, whose inhibition leads to HRD in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells. AXL is upregulated in HCC tumors, which is positively correlated with low survival rates.

Materials And Methods: Adhering to the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines, three English-language databases were systematically reviewed: PubMed, Web of Science, and the National Library of Medicine. The search was conducted between their inception and January 1, 2023.
Background: The majority of colorectal cancer (CRC) cases develop from precursor advanced adenoma (AA). With the development of proteomics technologies, blood protein biomarkers have potential applications in the early screening of AA and CRC in the general population.
Aim: To identify serum protein biomarkers for the early screening of AA and CRC.
To investigate the clinical and pathological characteristics of breast cancer with HER2 low expression. The data from 3 422 patients with invasive breast cancer which archived in Peking Union Medical College Hospital between April 2019 and July 2022 were retrospectively reviewed. Among them, 136 patients were treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

Over the years, medical and preventive integration research has focused on chronic and chronic infectious diseases, with insufficient attention to acute ones. Confronting newly emerging infectious diseases establishing continuous monitoring, early warning, emergency response, and appropriate treatment will be a key focus for developing and reforming the healthcare system.

HER2 mRNA was analyzed by reverse transcription digital PCR in 41 cases of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded surgical tissue samples of invasive breast cancer obtained between January 2020 and March 2023 at Peking Union Medical College Hospital. The cohort included 21 HER2 IHC 1+ and 20 IHC 0 (12 ultra-low and 8 non-expression of HER2).

Aim: To explore the clinical characteristics, treatment patterns, and short-term outcomes in CEG patients in China.
To introduce the progress in research of rash and fever syndrome (RFS) surveillance and early warning both at home and abroad, and provide reference for surveillance and prevention of RFS in China. The keywords "fever" "rash" and "surveillance" and others were used for a literature retrieval by using China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform, PubMed and Web of Science. The languages of literatures were limited in Chinese and English.

An ecosystem health assessment model was constructed, and the spatial-temporal evolution characteristics of ecosystem health in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region in 2000, 2010, and 2020 were analyzed. The geographical detector and GWR were used to identify the dominant factors affecting ecosystem health.

Acetyl-L-carnitine (ALC) shows neuroprotection through anti-inflammatory effects and via regulation of neuronal synaptic plasticity by counteracting post-trauma excitotoxicity. This study aimed to investigate mechanisms implicated in the etiology of neurodegeneration in rmTBI mice treated with ALC.

Methods: A total of 276 infertile women undergoing IVF with POR were included in this retrospective study. They were divided into two groups with ( = 121) or without ( = 155) embryo banking at the discretion of the attending physicians.
Background: Patients with gynecologic cancers experience side effects of chemotherapy cardiotoxicity. We aimed to quantify cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) markers of myocardial fibrosis in patients with gynecologic cancer and low cardiovascular risk who undergo chemotherapy.
Methods: This study is part of a registered clinical research.
Identifying the contamination and sources of potentially toxic elements (PTEs) in road-dust sediment (RDS) and the surrounding greenspace soil of urban environments and understanding their ecological-health risks are important for pollution management and public health. The contamination characteristics, ecological and probabilistic health risks, and source apportionment of eight PTEs (Cd, Pb, Cr, Cu, Ni, As, Zn, and Hg) in the Yellow River Custom Tourist Line of Lanzhou, which is the largest open urban riverfront scenic park in China, were investigated. The results showed that all the RDS PTE mean concentrations exceeded their soil background values, whereas for the surrounding greenspace soils, the concentrations of the PTEs, except for Cr and Ni, were also higher than their local background levels.

The contamination characteristics and potential ecological risks of eight heavy metals (Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Cd, Hg, and Pb) were evaluated using the geo-accumulation index (), single-factor pollution index (), Nemerow integrated pollution index (), and improved potential ecological risk index (RI). The human health risk assessment was also evaluated using the exposure risk model.

A total of 46 surface sediment samples were collected along the Lanzhou reach of the Yellow River, and the contents of eight heavy metals, Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Cd, Hg, and Pb, were determined by using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry and an atomic fluorescence spectrometer. Contamination indexes including single factor pollution index () and geo-accumulation index (), together with the sediment pollution index (SPI), were used to assess heavy metal pollution characteristics and ecological risk levels in the urban river surface sediments of the Lanzhou reach of the Yellow River.
