Introduction: Osimertinib is now a standard first-line (1L) therapy for EGFR-mutated (EGFRm) advanced NSCLC. We aimed to characterize patterns of therapy and longitudinal risk of brain and liver metastasis in a cohort of EGFRm NSCLC.
Methods: Patients with metastatic EGFRm NSCLC who received 1L systemic therapy at sites within the Academic Thoracic Medical Investigator's Consortium were included; demographic and clinical data including treatment patterns were described.

Objective: To examine chiropractic students' attitudes regarding knowledge of pain neuroscience, chronic pain, and patient-centered care before and after educational interventions. Secondarily, this study aimed to compare measures of these skills between cohorts at different timepoints throughout training programs.
Methods: Using stratified randomization, 281 Year 3 chiropractic students at 2 institutions were allocated into 1 of 3 educational interventions and served as active-control comparison groups: pain neuroscience education, chronic pain education, or patient-centered care.
The spectrum, pathophysiology and recovery trajectory of persistent post-COVID-19 cognitive deficits are unknown, limiting our ability to develop prevention and treatment strategies. We report the 1-year cognitive, serum biomarker and neuroimaging findings from a prospective, national study of cognition in 351 COVID-19 patients who required hospitalization, compared with 2,927 normative matched controls. Cognitive deficits were global, associated with elevated brain injury markers and reduced anterior cingulate cortex volume 1 year after COVID-19.

This retrospective analysis evaluated a multi-institution cohort of patients with EGFRm NSCLC treated in the pre-osimertinib era and sought to describe characteristics of long-term survivors.
Methods: Clinical characteristics and outcomes were abstracted from the electronic medical records of patients with EGFRm metastatic NSCLC who started first-line therapy before 2015.
Exploring the challenges posed by uncertainties in numerical modeling for hazardous material storage, this study introduces methodologies to improve monitoring networks for detecting subsurface leakages. The proposed approaches were applied to the Korea CO Storage Environmental Management (K-COSEM) test site, undergoing calibration, validation and uncertainty analysis through hydraulic and controlled-CO release tests. The calibration phase involved inter-well tracer and multi-well pumping tests, leveraging the Parameter ESTimation (PEST) model to determine the aquifer flow and solute transport properties of the K-COSEM site.

Data Sources And Study Setting: We extracted and displayed hepatitis B (HBV), hepatitis C (HCV), and tuberculosis (TB) screening data from the EHR for users of b/tsDMARDs using PowerBI (Microsoft) and deployed the dashboard to VA facilities across the United States in 2022; we observed facilities for 44 weeks post-deployment.
Study Design: We examined the association between dashboard engagement by healthcare personnel and the percentage of patients with all screenings complete (HBV, HCV, and TB) at the facility level using an interrupted time series.
While the hippocampus is key for human cognitive abilities, it is also a phylogenetically old cortex and paradoxically considered evolutionarily preserved. Here, we introduce a comparative framework to quantify preservation and reconfiguration of hippocampal organisation in primate evolution, by analysing the hippocampus as an unfolded cortical surface that is geometrically matched across species. Our findings revealed an overall conservation of hippocampal macro- and micro-structure, which shows anterior-posterior and, perpendicularly, subfield-related organisational axes in both humans and macaques.

The Food and Drug Administration's (FDA's) breakthrough therapy designation (BTD) program was created to increase patient access to safe and effective therapies by supporting the efficient clinical development of qualifying, clinically meaningful therapies. Using a new data set of key development milestones for drugs approved between 2006 and 2020, including both BTD drugs and a set of comparator drugs identified by FDA experts, we estimated the BTD program's impact on time spent in late-stage clinical development, measured as the elapsed time between a drug's end-of-Phase-II meeting with regulators and its approval for marketing. Our analysis suggests that the BTD program lowers late-stage clinical development time by 30 percent.

Methodology: The Bone Densitometry Survey was developed by convening a Work Group of individuals with expertise in bone densitometry and engaging the Work Group in an iterative drafting and revision process. Once completed, the survey was beta tested, administered through REDCap, and sent via e-mail to points of contact at 178 VHA facilities.
Combining histology and ex vivo MRI from the same mouse brain is a powerful way to study brain microstructure. Mouse brains prepared for ex vivo MRI are often kept in storage solution for months, potentially becoming brittle and showing reduced antigenicity. Here, we describe a protocol for mouse brain dissection, tissue processing, paraffin embedding, sectioning, and staining.
