Nuclear fragmentation of clinical silicon beam.

Heavy ions used for biomedical studies fragment when they pass through matter. It is known that different fragments cause different types of biological damage. In this paper, results pertaining to different kinds of secondary fragments produced by a 28Si beam at 463 MeV/nucleon in its interaction with nuclear emulsion are presented.
