This research studies the problem of a joint capacity/capacity reliability analysis of the multiuser multi-input multioutput (MIMO) system functioning in the presence of generalized multipath fading. The study presents the derived results of the closed-form analytical statistical description of the ergodic sum-rate capacity, the capacity reliability and the capacity's higher-order statistics in the case of complex Nakagami-m distributed channel transmission coefficients. A numerical verification of the derived expressions was performed, and it demonstrated excellent correspondence with the simulation.

Investigating the size distributions of Co nanoparticle ensembles is an important problem, which has no straightforward solution. In this work, we use the combination of 59Co internal field nuclear magnetic resonance (59Co IF NMR) and ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) spectroscopies on a metallic Co nanoparticle sample with a narrow Co nanoparticle size distribution due to encapsulation within the inner channels of carbon nanotubes. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images showed that the nanoparticles can be represented as prolate spheroids, with the majority of particles having an aspect ratio between 1 and 2.

Brain regions such as the cerebellum (CB) have been neglected for a long time in the study of Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathogenesis. In reference to a new emerging hypothesis according to which there is an altered cerebellar synaptic processing in AD, we verified the possible role played by new biomarkers in the CB of AD patients compared with not-demented healthy control subjects (NDHS). Using a bioinformatics approach, we have collected several microarray datasets and obtained 626 cerebella sample biopsies belonging to subjects who did not die from causes related to neurological diseases and 199 cerebella belonging to AD.

We studied the effect of non-thermal argon plasma on proliferative activity of bone marrow multipotent stromal cells in vitro. Treatment of stromal cell suspension with pure argon did not affect their proliferation. The cells treated with non-thermal argon plasma and explanted in the treatment medium demonstrated growth inhibition by 30-40% in comparison with the control.
