Background Application of multimodal large language models (LLMs) with both textual and visual capabilities has been steadily increasing, but their ability to interpret radiologic images is still doubted. Purpose To evaluate the accuracy of LLMs and compare it with that of human readers with varying levels of experience and to assess the factors affecting LLM accuracy in answering Image Challenge cases. Materials and Methods Radiologic images of cases from October 13, 2005, to April 18, 2024, were retrospectively reviewed.

This study aims to assess whether the prognostic benefit of intravascular imaging-guided procedural optimization persists in patients undergoing PCI for left main coronary artery disease.
Methods: Of 1639 patients enrolled in the RENOVATE-COMPLEX-PCI, 192 patients with left main coronary artery disease were selected for the current prespecified substudy.
Mass spectrometry (MS) based proteomics is widely used for biomarker discovery. However, often, most biomarker candidates from discovery are discarded during the validation processes. Such discrepancies between biomarker discovery and validation are caused by several factors, mainly due to the differences in analytical methodology and experimental conditions.

Methods: In this prospective, multicenter, open-label trial in South Korea, we randomly assigned patients with complex coronary-artery lesions in a 2:1 ratio to undergo either intravascular imaging-guided PCI or angiography-guided PCI. In the intravascular imaging group, the choice between intravascular ultrasonography and optical coherence tomography was at the operators' discretion.
Background Dilated perivascular spaces (dPVS) are associated with aging and various disorders; however, the effect of age on dPVS burden in young populations and normative data have not been fully evaluated. Purpose To investigate the dPVS burden and provide normative data according to age in a healthy population, including children. Materials and Methods In this retrospective study, three-dimensional T2-weighted brain MRI scans from the Human Connectome Project data sets were used for visual grading (grade 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 for 0, 1-10, 11-20, 21-40, and >40 dPVS on a single section of either hemispheric region) and automated volumetry of dPVS in basal ganglia (BGdPVS) and white matter (WMdPVS).

Covalent inhibitors bind C481 in the active site of BTK and have become a preferred CLL therapy. Disease progression on covalent BTK inhibitors is commonly associated with C481 mutations.

However, there remain concerns regarding decreased therapeutic effects when the liver is regenerated or when physiological proliferation occurs. Although genome editing using the clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats/Cas9 system provides an opportunity to solve this problem, low knock-in efficiency may limit its application for therapeutically relevant expression.

This study aimed to compare image quality of 2 high-resolution three-dimensional (3D) MRI sequences of the neck, controlled aliasing in parallel imaging results in higher acceleration (CAIPIRINHA)-volumetric interpolated breath-hold examination (VIBE), and golden-angle radial sparse parallel imaging (GRASP)-VIBE.
Materials And Methods: One hundred seventy-three patients indicated for contrast-enhanced neck MRI examination were scanned using 3 T scanners and both CAIPIRINHA-VIBE and GRASP-VIBE with nearly isotropic 3D acquisitions (<1 mm in-plane resolution with analogous acquisition times).
Rationale: Vascular smooth muscle cells (SMCs) exhibit remarkable plasticity and can undergo dedifferentiation upon pathological stimuli associated with disease and interventions.
Objective: Although epigenetic changes are critical in SMC phenotype switching, a fundamental regulator that governs the epigenetic machineries regulating the fate of SMC phenotype has not been elucidated.
Methods And Results: Using SMCs, mouse models, and human atherosclerosis specimens, we found that FAK (focal adhesion kinase) activation elicits SMC dedifferentiation by stabilizing DNMT3A (DNA methyltransferase 3A).
The development of COVID-19 vaccines is critical in controlling global health issues under the COVID-19 pandemic. The subunit vaccines are the safest and most widely used vaccine platform and highly effective against a multitude of infectious diseases. An adjuvant is essential for subunit vaccines to enhance the magnitude and durability of immune responses.

Purpose To investigate whether cortical thickness from MRI can help predict conversion from mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to dementia in PD at an individual level using a machine learning-based model. Materials and Methods In this retrospective study, patients with PD and MCI who underwent MRI from September 2008 to November 2016 were included.

To overcome PMD-induced cognitive deficit, Green tea has been suggested as a dietary supplement because of its ameliorating effect on cognitive dysfunction induced by normal aging or neurodegenerative syndromes; however, its clinical use to improve PMD-accompanied cognitive deficit is still limited due to the controversy for the active ingredients and ambiguous mechanism of its action. Here, we developed modified high-temperature-processed green tea extract (HTP-GTE), which showed lower neuronal toxicity than the conventional green tea extract (GTE).

However, whether HCC risk after HBsAg seroclearance differs between antiviral therapy (AVT)-induced or spontaneous seroclearance cases and ways to identify at-risk populations remain unclear.
Methods: A retrospective cohort of 1,200 adult chronic hepatitis B patients who achieved HBsAg seroclearance (median age: 56 years; 824 men; 165 with cirrhosis; 216 AVT-induced cases) were analyzed.
Lidocaine is a local anesthetic agent used in the form of injection and topical cream. However, these formulation types have limitations of being either painful or slow-acting, thereby hindering effective and complete clinical performance of lidocaine. Dissolving microneedles (DMNs) are used to overcome these limitations owing to their fast onset time and minimally invasive administration methods.

Background The relationship between administration of macrocyclic gadolinium-based contrast agents and T1-weighted signal intensity (SI) change of the globus pallidus (GP) and dentate nucleus (DN) is, to the knowledge of the authors, not known. Purpose To determine if quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) can detect changes in magnetic susceptibility of the GP and DN after serial administration of macrocyclic gadobutrol in patients with primary brain tumors. Materials and Methods Patients diagnosed with primary brain tumors from August 2014 to February 2019 were eligible for this single-center retrospective study.

We compared the findings of multiphasic computed tomography angiography between cervical ICA pseudo-occlusion and true occlusion at the cervical ICA in patients with anterior circulation acute ischemic stroke to determine their diagnostic value.
Methods: Thirty patients with nonvisualization of the proximal ICA were included.
