Aims: Exercise improves cardiovascular health, but high-volume high-intensity exercise is associated with increased coronary artery atherosclerosis and calcification (CAC). We aimed to identify predictors of CAC in athletes.
Methods And Results: We assessed the association of traditional and non-traditional cardiovascular risk factors with CAC using linear and logistic regression.
Haematological and plasma parameters are used in veterinary medicine as a diagnostic tool, allowing for the early detection of potential health and welfare issues. For the implementation of monitoring strategies, reference intervals (RIs) are needed to know when deviations in those parameters become clinically relevant. Here, haematological and plasma biochemical RIs of Norwegian Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar Linnaeus) are presented for 29 biomarkers.

Method: We included 313 patients admitted to Akershus University Hospital with acute dyspnea and asked the patients directly on hospital admission whether they had experienced chest pain during the last 24 h.
Background: Research suggests that people with intellectual disabilities have a higher risk for cardiovascular disease than the general population. The aim of this study was to identify barriers for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular disease for people with intellectual disabilities.
Method: We conducted individual interviews with relatives and general practitioners and focus group interviews with staff working at an assisted home facility, a cardiac ward, an obesity clinic and two rehabilitation centres (n = 33) in Norway.
