Objective: This study aimed to describe the sound frequency of snoring in relation to the site of upper airway vibration among snorers.
Methods: 383 snores from 40 participants who complained of snoring were digitally recorded during natural and induced sleep using a level III polysomnography monitor with a built-in microphone. During drug-induced sleep endoscopy (DISE), the real-time site of upper airway obstruction was assessed, and the sound frequency of snoring was recorded synchronously.
Objective: We compared sonoanatomy of the internal jugular vein (IJV) the high (HA), conventional (CA) and the medial oblique approach (MA) to identify the best approach and head position for IJV cannulation.
Materials & Methods: Total of 45 volunteers aged 18-65 years were included in this study. The degree of overlap in percentage, depth of IJV from skin, antero-posterior (AP) and transverse diameters (TD) of IJV were measured in real time with ultrasound (US).
Purpose: The role of anesthetists during orthopedic fluoroscopic procedures exposes them to radiation. We conducted a prospective, descriptive study to estimate the radiation exposure to anesthetists during procedures over a six-month period in the orthopedic trauma operating theatres which had the most fluoroscopic usage.
Materials And Methods: Thermoluminescent dosimeter (TLD) chips were placed two metres away from the radiation source, in three positions to simulate the anesthetist's position in the operating theatre during the fluoroscopic procedures as well as their radiation safety practices.
Unrecognized chest tube entrapment by surgical closure is a technical error. We present a rare case of chest tube entrapment that was successfully treated with a simple and safe solution in an elderly man after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). We visualized the suture using a small endoscope through the chest tube and incised it with the help of thoracoscopic scissors.
