Article Synopsis
  • Hypoxia-inducible factors (HIFs) play a crucial role in regulating erythropoietin synthesis and red blood cell production, with PHD enzymes being vital for controlling HIF stability and activity.
  • The study identified potential PHD inhibitors from over 13,000 compounds using molecular docking and dynamics simulations, revealing four promising candidates that bind more effectively to PHD2 than the existing drug, Vadadustat.
  • Among the candidates, ZINC36378940 emerged as the most promising with the strongest binding affinity, suggesting it should be further explored for therapeutic applications.

Background: The elevation of IQGAP3 expression in diverse cancers indicates a key role for IQGAP3 in carcinogenesis. Although IQGAP3 was established as a proliferating stomach stem cell factor and a regulator of the RAS-ERK pathway, how it drives cancer growth remains unclear.

Objective: We define the function of IQGAP3 in gastric cancer (GC) development and progression.

Background: The most common aggressive lymphoma in adults is diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Consolidative radiotherapy (RT) is often administered to DLBCL patients but guidelines remain unclear, which could lead to unnecessary RT. We aimed to evaluate the value of end-of-treatment PET-CT scans, interpreted using the Deauville score (DV), to guide the utilization of consolidative RT, which may help spare low-risk DLBCL patients from unnecessary RT.

Background And Aim: Accurate stratification of the risk of lymph node metastasis (LNM) following endoscopic resection of submucosal invasive (T1) colorectal cancer (CRC) is imperative for determining the necessity for additional surgery. In this systematic review, we evaluated the efficacy of prediction of LNM by artificial intelligence (AI) models utilizing whole slide image (WSI) in patients with T1 CRC.

Methods: In accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines, a systematic review was conducted through searches in PubMed (MEDLINE), Embase, and the Cochrane Library for relevant studies published up to December 2023.

Sodium (Na) ion batteries (SIB) hold great importance in energy storage due to their potential to offer a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to traditional lithium-ion batteries. Na is abundantly available and less expensive than lithium, making it an attractive option for large-scale energy storage applications. In the present work, we have predicted a series of 2D transition metal (TM) Si-chalcogenides (TMSiCs), TMXSi (TM = Ta, Nb and X = S, Se), which exhibit metallic characteristics.
