Angiomyxomas, also known as vascular myxolipomas, are a rare type of soft tissue tumor characterized by the proliferation of adipose tissue within a myxoid stroma accompanied by multiple vascular channels. They represent a distinct variant of lipomas and require differentiation from other benign and malignant lipoma subtypes. Despite their rarity, only a few cases of angiomyxolipoma have been documented in medical literature.

Introduction: Heavy work in scorching temperatures can cause dehydration and heat stress, which can lead to a number of heat-related diseases. Heavy work in intense heat without rest or hydration is the main cause. The "Water, Rest, Shade" (WRS) intervention program for outdoor workers in hot weather reduces heat stress.

The technological advancement of Additive Manufacturing has enabled the fabrication of various customized artifacts and devices, which has prompted a huge demand for multimaterials that can cater to stringent mechanical, chemical, and other functional property requirements. Photocurable formulations that are widely used for Digital Light Processing (DLP)/Stereolithography (SLA) 3D printing applications are now expected to meet these new challenges of hard and soft or stretchable structural requirements in addition to good resolution in multiple scales. Here we present a biocompatible photocurable resin formulation with tunable mechanical properties that can produce hard or stretchable elastomeric 3D printed materials in a graded manner.

Article Synopsis
  • Ultrasound-guided interscalene (IS) block provides effective pain relief for shoulder surgeries but can lead to hemidiaphragmatic paralysis and breathing difficulties.
  • This study compared the efficacy of a superior trunk (ST) block with the traditional IS block in patients undergoing humerus surgery, finding significantly lower rates of diaphragmatic paresis with the ST block.
  • Both blocks offered similar pain relief and opioid usage post-surgery, but the ST block is recommended as a safer alternative for patients with breathing issues.

This study demonstrates the direct conversion of vinylogous esters into selectively protected 6-acyl resorcinols (4-alkoxy/aryloxy-2-hydroxy arylketones) in a regiospecific manner. Resorcinyl ketones are first-time synthesized, diverging from their traditional roots, originating from non-benzenoid pool materials. Converting cyclohexenones into phenol- or resorcinol-based arylketones remains challenging due to the stability and reactivity issues of intermediate products.
