Listeria monocytogenes causes listeriosis, a serious infection, with a high mortality rate for persons at higher risk for listeriosis. The first Listeria outbreak linked to frozen vegetables occurred in 2016 and resulted in three deaths. Many frozen vegetables are intended to be consumed after cooking.

Resolving the three-dimensional structure of transition metal oxide nanoparticles (TMO-NPs), upon self-restructuring from solution, is crucial for tuning their structure-functionality. Yet, this remains challenging as this process entails complex structure fluctuations, which are difficult to track experimentally and, hence, hinder the knowledge-driven optimization of TMO-NPs. Herein, we combine high-energy synchrotron X-ray absorption and X-ray total scattering experiments with atomistic multiscale simulations to investigate the self-restructuring of self-assembled Co-NPs from solution under dark or photocatalytic water oxidation conditions at distinct reaction times and atomic length-scales.

Outcomes in participatory environmental processes are strongly affected by choices about who is engaged. Inclusive engagement diversifies the range of interests and perspectives represented, including those from vulnerable and marginalized groups, ultimately contributing to more socially and environmentally sustainable and equitable outcomes. However, existing "stakeholder analysis" methods often bias participant identification away from disenfranchised groups with limited pre-existing interest or influence, instead favoring the most easily accessed and influential stakeholders.

Background: Low-income, rural pregnant women are at disproportionate risk for adverse pregnancy outcomes as well as future cardiovascular risk. Currently, less than half of eligible women enroll in the Women, Infants, and Children's (WIC) Program. This study aims to evaluate whether integrating clinical care and social care may advance health equity and reduce health disparities by directly linking women receiving obstetric care to the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for WIC and/or a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN).
