Obstructive sleep apnea is known to be an overall public health problem that, among other things, increases morbidity and mortality. Risk factors as well as symptoms of this multidimensional sleep-related breathing disorder negatively affect quality of life. With our study we aimed to expose the association between obstructive sleep apnea and quality of life in the population of Pomerania, Germany.

Healthy Summer Learners: An explanatory mixed methods study and process evaluation.

Healthy Summer Learners (HSL), a novel, 6-week summer program for 2-4th grade children from low-income families in the Southeastern United States, aimed to prevent accelerated summer BMI gain and academic learning loss by providing healthy meals and snacks, 15 min of nutrition education, 3 h of physical activity opportunities and 3.5 h of reading instruction daily. [Clinical manifestations of Epstein-Barr virus infection in children and adolescents].

The most commonly known clinical manifestation of primary Epstein-Barr virus infection is infectious mononucleosis. In this review we cover the diagnostics and basic patho-physiology of Epstein-Barr virus infection and present the many clinical manifestations of the virus, including less well-known diseases such as hepatitis, auto-immune haemolytic anaemia, and neurological and immunological diseases. Our aim is to strengthen the clinicians' awareness and understanding of these conditions in order to improve diagnostics and avoid delay of treatment.
