Introduction: Age is an established predictor of renal failure among recipients of cadaveric transplants; however, the impact of donor age on recipient glomerular filtration rate (GFR) among living donor kidney (LDK) transplantations is not well established.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed recipient posttransplantation GFR at 12, 36, and 60 months among 315 LDK allograft recipients. The impact of donor age was assessed on the recipient estimated GFR (eGFR) using multivariate linear regression stratified according to donor age <50 years (n = 246) and >or=50 years (n = 69).
Background: Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) have been shown to increase bleeding risks. This study examined the association of perioperative coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) bleeding risks and SSRI use prior to CABG.
Hypothesis: SSRI may be associated with increased bleeding risks after CABG resulting in elevated reoperation rates due to bleeding complications.

Adenoviral infections are commonly described in pediatric transplant populations. However, much less information is available regarding the incidence of infection and clinical spectrum of disease in adult transplant recipients. Moreover, this infection usually manifests as involvement of the transplanted organ in one pathologic form or the other, in addition to other systemic manifestations.

Immunotactoid glomerulopathy is a glomerular disorder typified by hollow cylindrical and sometimes spherical microtubular deposits, with a diameter of 30-40 nm, but up to 90 nm, often in a parallel arrangement or in intersecting bundles. These patients frequently end up receiving kidney transplants due to progressive renal insufficiency. Known to recur in renal transplant recipients with variable outcomes, its treatment options are limited.

The kidney had three arteries, five veins and two ureters and was procured en bloc with the donor vena cava and aorta. The caudal end of the donor vena cava was anastomosed to the recipient's external iliac vein.
