Polysarcosine emerges as a promising alternative to polyethylene glycol (PEG) in biomedical applications, boasting advantages in biocompatibility and degradability. While the self-assembly behavior of block copolymers containing polysarcosine-containing polymers has been reported, their potential for shape transformation remains largely untapped, limiting their versatility across various applications. In this study, we present a comprehensive methodology for synthesizing, self-assembling, and transforming polysarcosine-poly(benzyl glutamate) block copolymers, resulting in the formation of bowl-shaped vesicles, disks, and stomatocytes.

The coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) pandemic and pandemic-related lockdowns, school closures, and social distancing dramatically impacted the daily lives of young people worldwide, resulting in major disruptions to normal developmental trajectories and complex (and at times opposing effects) on different SUD risk and protective factors, which contributed to inconsistent outcomes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, substance use prevalence rates decreased in the general population of US youth, but increased for certain vulnerable subgroups.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Individuals with intellectual disabilities (IDs) and neurogenetic conditions (IDNDs) are at greater risk for comorbidities that may increase adverse outcomes for this population when they have coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The study aims are to examine the population-level odds of hospitalisation and mortality of privately insured individuals with COVID-19 with and without IDNDs IDs, controlling for sociodemographics and comorbid health conditions.
Methods: This is a retrospective, cross-sectional study of 1174 individuals with IDs and neurogenetic conditions within a population of 752 237 de-identified, privately insured, US patients diagnosed with COVID-19 between February 2020 and September 2020.
Objective: Impulsive aggression in youth is a significant clinical and public health concern, spanning multiple diagnostic categories and causing significant psychosocial impairment. To advance its assessment and treatment, recent research has focused on developing an empirically derived nosology that can distinguish impulsive aggression from other common childhood problems. The current study is a secondary analysis examining the associations between this empirically defined form of impulsive aggression, other psychiatric symptom dimensions, and behavioral approach and inhibition motivation of youth.
