Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is an escalating global health concern that results in approximately 700,000 deaths annually owing to drug-resistant infections. It compromises the effectiveness of conventional antibiotics, as well as fundamental medical procedures, such as surgery and cancer treatment. Phytochemicals, natural plant constituents, and biogenic nanoparticles synthesized through biological processes are pharmacological alternatives for supplementing or replacing traditional antibiotics.

In the present study, ohmic heating system was developed for the pasteurization of liquid egg white. A batch reactor system was designed with a capacity of 100 ml and operated at varied gradients of voltage (20, 15, 10 V/cm), frequencies (10, 55, 100 Hz), holding times (1, 2.5, 4 min) at two different waveforms (sine and square).

A case of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a rare prion disease, posted for surgery is a clinically challenging scenario for an anesthesiologist. In addition to weighing in the consequences of using general versus neuraxial anesthesia for a patient of such a progressive neurodegenerative disorder, the anesthesiologist must also meticulously plan and institute a robust infection control protocol, keeping in mind that prion diseases are transmissible and highly resistant to the standard sterilization process. We hereby report the successful anesthetic management of a 57-year-old patient with suspected CJD presented with intertrochanteric fracture femur for closed reduction and internal fixation and also review the existing literature regarding the anesthetic management of a definite or suspected case of CJD.

The flexibility of the MIL-53(M) metal-organic framework (MOF) has been elucidated through various characterization methodologies, particularly in gas and liquid adsorption processes. However, to the best of our knowledge, there has been no prior electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) characterization of liquid-phase adsorption in the MOF MIL-53(M), which offers insights into local geometric changes at the oxygen octahedron containing the metal ions of the framework. In this study, we investigate, for the first time, the pore transformations within the MIL-53(AlCr) framework during liquid-phase adsorption using EPR spectroscopy.

Nowadays, wireless sensor networks (WSN) have gained huge attention worldwide due to their wide applications in different domains. The limited amount of energy resources is considered as the main limitations of WSN, which generally affect the network life time. Hence, a dynamic clustering and routing model is designed to resolve this issue.
