How Instagram as a MALL tool impacts EAP learners' technical vocabulary learning and perceptions in an electronic context.

Mobile-assisted language learning (MALL) technology and the link it creates with language education domains made researchers interested in the plausible effects of MALL tools on English for academic purposes (EAP) students' language development. Likewise, this study investigated the effect of Instagram as a MALL tool on technical vocabulary knowledge of Iranian EAP university students (physical education major) in an electronic course conducted via Adobe Connect as well as their perceptions and attitudes toward Instagram. In a pretest-posttest quasi-experimental research design, 60 EAP university students at the intermediate level were randomly assigned to a control group and an experimental group who practiced technical vocabulary in physical education via different tasks on Instagram.

Mental Illness Discrimination in Mental Health Treatment Programs: Intersections of Race, Ethnicity, and Sexual Orientation.

People with mental illnesses (PWMI) who are of color and/or lesbian, gay, or bisexual (LGB) experience mental health disparities, including within mental health treatment programs (MHTPs). Informed by a critical framework with attention to intersectionality and microaggressions, this qualitative study asked 20 PWMI and family members who also are of color and/or LGB whether they had experienced mental illness discrimination in MHTPs, a possible factor in disparities. We also asked participants about aspects of MHTPs that supported recovery.

[Topical treatment of vaginal infections by the association of metronidazole-clotrimazole].

Vaginal infections are one of the most gynecological frequently diseases observed and with significant psychological and clinical implications. Their pharmacological treatment may require different options, but even today, scientific literature and international guidelines recommend the use of metronidazole for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis (BV) and trichomoniasis, and the clotrimazole for fungal infections from Candida (VVC). In this contest, the topical association of clotrimazole-metronidazole (vaginal pessaries, cream and douches) represents a current reference treatment for these types of infections with a number of important pharmacological properties.

Nuclear interaction of the dynein light chain LC8a with the TRPS1 transcription factor suppresses the transcriptional repression activity of TRPS1.

The TRPS1 gene codes for a 1281 amino acids nuclear transcription factor with an unusual combination of different types of zinc finger motifs, including GATA-type DNA-binding and IKAROS-like zinc fingers. TRPS1 is a repressor of GATA-regulated genes and implicated in the human tricho-rhino-phalangeal syndromes. We found that two distinct regions of TRPS1 can physically interact with the dynein light chain 8 protein, LC8a, that are at least 458 amino acids apart from each other.
