Background: Bypass surgery for complex intracranial aneurysms (IAs) results in drastic blood flow changes in intracranial arteries. The aim of the study was to elucidate how vessels adapt to blood flow changes after bypass surgery with phase-contrast magnetic resonance imaging (PC-MRI).
Methods: This is a prospective observational study to assess changes of the blood flow in intracranial arteries after bypass surgery for IAs.

Background: A minilaparotomy for specimen extraction during laparoscopy occasionally results in postoperative wound complications. We have performed a totally laparoscopic resection for early colorectal cancer using the natural orifice specimen extraction technique.
Methods: From 2008 to 2013, we have performed a totally laparoscopic resection for clinical stage I and IIA low sigmoid colon and rectal cancers.

Endocrine cell carcinoma was diagnosed from an excised specimen. In the early postoperative period, orbital metastases and thoracic spine metastasis were detected, while the multiple liver metastases and lymph node metastases worsened markedly.

Anatomic liver resection is indispensable for liver surgeons. However, recognition of the precise intrahepatic resectional plane is difficult because intrahepatic Glissonean branches cannot be visualized. We have devised a new surgical procedure to accurately determine the resectional plane of deep parts of the liver.
