Background: Acquired brain injury (ABI) is associated with social cognitive impairments, yet these impairments are often overlooked during clinical assessments. There are few validated and clinically appropriate measures of social cognition in ABI. Design: Using decolonising methodologies, the study used an Indigenous consensus method to undertake the co-design process and generate findings. For analysis, a qualitative interpretive-description framework was applied.
Background: Congenital heart disease (CHD) is a risk factor for developmental delay and for attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Outcome Collaborative has developed recommendations for ongoing monitoring of this at-risk population to be able to detect developmental, learning, and behavioral concerns, as they become apparent as a child ages.
Case Presentation: A 4-year-old boy with tetralogy of Fallot with a ventricular septal defect repaired in infancy was followed periodically in the cardiac neurodevelopmental follow-up clinic and diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder as well as additional developmental and medical issues.
Objective: Owing to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, many developmental-behavioral pediatric (DBP) practices adopted telehealth for care delivery. However, telehealth access and use for families with a preferred language other than English (PLOE) is an equity concern. Therefore, our study objective is to compare rates of telehealth utilization and visit completion by preferred family language among patients seen for DBP assessments during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The electronic health record (EHR) should contain information to support culturally responsive care and research; however, the widely used default "Asian" demographic variable in most US social systems (including EHRs) lacks information to describe the diverse experience within the Asian diaspora (e.g., ethnicities, languages).
