Introduction: Hemorrhagic transformation (HT) is a severe complication in patients with acute ischemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion (AIS-LVO) after endovascular treatment (EVT). We hypothesize that asymmetry of the internal cerebral veins (ICVs) on baseline CT angiogram (CTA) may serve as an adjunctive predictor of HT.
Methods: We conducted a study on consecutive AIS-LVO patients from November 2020 to April 2022.
Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a dynamic process of lineage plasticity in which epithelial cancer cells acquire mesenchymal traits, enabling them to metastasize to distant organs. This review explores the current understanding of how lineage plasticity and phenotypic reprogramming drive prostate cancer progression to lethal stages, contribute to therapeutic resistance, and highlight strategies to overcome the EMT phenotype within the prostate tumor microenvironment (TME). Emerging evidence reveals that prostate tumor cells can undergo lineage switching, adopting alternative growth pathways in response to anti-androgen therapies and taxane-based chemotherapy.

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder that often necessitates extensive surgery when medical treatment fails, particularly in advanced stages. Traditional surgical approaches, including flaps and skin grafts, are effective for tissue coverage but can lead to vascular complications and recurrence of HS. This study introduces a novel technique, the apple-peeling procedure, combined with negative pressure wound therapy at -50 mm Hg for 5 days postoperatively.

In recent diagnostic methodologies, Morse Continuous Wavelet Transform (MsCWT) is a feature extraction technique utilized to draw out distinctive attributes of ECG signals. In our study, we explore the employment of MsCWT in the classification of AF with ECG signals in a continuum.

Although typically performed with image-guided transthoracic biopsy, the advent of shape-sensing robotic-assisted bronchoscopy (ssRAB) provides an alternative diagnostic procedure for this subtype of lesions.
Methods: A retrospective study on PPL attached to the peripheral pleura (PP), comprising costal and diaphragmatic pleura, mediastinal pleura (MP), and fissural pleura (FP) sampled by ssRAB, from January 2020 to December 2023.
