Cell-based mechanical models, such as the Cell Vertex Model (CVM), have proven useful for studying the mechanical control of epithelial tissue dynamics. We recently developed a statistical method called image-based parameter inference for formulating CVM model functions and estimating their parameters from image data of epithelial tissues. In this study, we employed Bayesian statistics to improve the utility and flexibility of image-based parameter inference.

(L.) Ridsdale has been used by different ethnic communities to manage diseased conditions that can be traced to oxidative stress and cellular inflammations but scientific evidences to support the claim are scanty. The objective of this study was to isolate and identify the antioxidants present in the aerial parts of perform their molecular docking against proteins to inspect whether the traditional uses of the plant can be validated by an in-silico approach.

Epithelial cells adhere to each other via intercellular junctions that can be classified into bicellular junctions and tricellular contacts (vertices). Epithelial morphogenesis involves cell rearrangement and requires remodeling of bicellular junctions and vertices. Although our understanding of how bicellular junction mechanics drive epithelial morphogenesis has advanced, the mechanisms underlying vertex remodeling during this process have only received attention recently.

Although identity research has predominantly focused on college-bound adolescents, it has largely neglected vocational high school students who enter the job market immediately after graduation. Furthermore, most studies have concentrated on personal identity and have overlooked the concurrent development of social identity. This study examined the relationship between adolescents' personal and social identities over three years of vocational high school.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, behavioural scientists aimed to illuminate reasons why people comply with (or not) large-scale cooperative activities. Here we investigated the motives that underlie support for COVID-19 preventive behaviours in a sample of 12,758 individuals from 34 countries. We hypothesized that the associations of empathic prosocial concern and fear of disease with support towards preventive COVID-19 behaviours would be moderated by trust in the government.
