Hydrogels in agriculture offer controlled release, however, face issues with rapid disintegration, swift release, and inability to protect active ingredients. To overcome this, the study presents a hydrogel delivery system that uses dopamine-functionalized nanoporous diatom (DE-PDA) microparticles entrapped in alginate and chitosan matrices to deliver plant growth hormone, gibberellic acid (GA) that suffers from instability, limiting its field application. Developed GA@hydrogel beads exhibited an encapsulation efficiency of 85.

Background: Reproductive efficiency is paramount in the dairy industry, where early pregnancy detection of dairy cows will allow to detect the non-pregnant animals early, thus enabling to re-synchronize them and getting them pregnant leading to decrease in calving interval, which, in turn, is critical for maximizing productivity and economic gain. The objective of this study was to evaluate the colour Doppler ultrasonography (CDUS) and peripheral blood leukocytes (PBLs)-based pregnancy-associated biomarker mRNAs expression for the earliest detection of pregnancy status in the dairy cows at post insemination. MXenes (two-dimensional (2D) transition-metal carbides, nitrides, and carbonitrides) are gaining significant interest as alternative electrocatalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction due to their excellent properties, such as high electrical conductivity, large surface area, and chemical stability. MXenes are traditionally synthesized using hydrofluoric acid (HF), which raises safety and environmental concerns due to its highly corrosive and toxic nature. HF introduces fluoride functional groups on the surface of MXenes, which have been reported to have a detrimental effect on electrocatalysis.
