[Vaccination of cattle against trichophytosis in the prevention and control of dermatophytic zoonoses].

The results of a four-year study of the occurrence of trichophytosis in some cattle stocks in the Pardubice district are presented. The monoetiological nature of this mycosis is documented; this mycosis can be successfully controlled by vaccination. Experiments demonstrated a good activity of antigens which were included in commercial vaccines.

[Occurence of an outbreak of horse dermatophytosis caused by the fungus Trichophyton equinum].

There is a description of equine dermatophytosis enzootic, caused by the microscopic fungus Trichophyton equinum. The disease affected 32 horses, mostly young, all in the same herd (74.4%).

[Values of acid-base equilibrium in the blood of various species of domestic animals].

By means of the Astrup equilibration method the values of the acid-base balance of the blood were determined in 104 cows, 99 horses, 100 pigs, 15 sheep, 20 goats, and in 101 dogs. The pH values of the blood, the partial pressure of CO2, the base excess, the base buffer, the standard bicarbonate, the actual bicarbonate, and the total CO2 were processed statistically and are presented in tables.

[Acid-base values of porcine blood].

The main indices of acid-base balance of venous blood (v. auricularis extrema) were determined in 100 clinically disease-free pigs divided into categories with 20 animals each (piglets, pigs from 30 to 40 kg, pigs from 80 to 100 kg, sows, and boars). The Astrup method was employed for the determination of pH, pCO2, total CO2, BE, BB, AB in individuals, groups, and in the set as a whole.
