Effect of Different Surface Treatments on the Bonding Strength of Three Different Post Biomaterials to a Resin-Based Luting Agent.

Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate how different post-surface treatments affect the ability of luting cement to bond three different dental post materials to a resinous surface.

Materials And Methods: The study analyzed a total of 108 posts categorized into three main groups: stainless steel, cast, and fiber posts. Next, the core group was divided into four subgroups ( = 9) according to the type of surface treatment applied: no surface treatment (NS), silanization (SZ), sandblasting (SB), and sandblasting plus silanization (SBSZ).

Bone Health Management in Elective Orthopaedic Surgery: A Claims-Based Observational Study.

Introduction: There are limited data on the management of bone health, including bone mineral density (BMD) evaluation and osteoporosis (OP) treatment, in patients undergoing elective orthopaedic surgeries.

Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study using administrative claims data from Symphony Health, PatientSource for patients aged ≥50 years with documented kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty (KP/VP), total knee arthroplasty (TKA), and total hip arthroplasty (THA). Risk stratification to identify patients at very high risk for fracture (VHRFx) was based on clinical practice guideline recommendations to the extent information on variables of interest were available from the claims database.
