The case was a sixty-four-year-old female with a history of fibrous tumor in the right supraclavicular and neck region thirty years ago. A fibrous tumor developed in the right pleural cavity and was surgically resected. Since local recurrence occurred, the chest wall was partially resected including the tumor followed by reconstruction with a composite graft.

She received induction therapy according to the AML92 protocol of the Japan Adult Leukemia Study Group (JALSG) with all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) plus chemotherapeutic agents. She achieved complete remission, but one year later had a relapse in her external auditory canal without leukemic cell in the bone marrow.

We prepared new 7-hydroxyguanine derivatives, 7-hydroxyguanosine 5'-monophosphate and N2-tetrahydropyranyl-7-hydroxyguanine, and compared biological activities of 7-hydroxyguanine derivatives including nucleosides acquired previously. 7-Hydroxyguanine and its nucleotide inhibited the focus formation of Rous sarcoma virus. Antitumor activities of these derivatives against mouse leukemia L1210 were not so different from one another.
