Article Synopsis
  • * Data was collected through three online focus group interviews involving 24 family physicians, who discussed their experiences and challenges working with refugee patients.
  • * Key findings highlighted four themes: the physicians' experiences and emotions, challenges encountered, and proposed solutions, emphasizing difficulties in healthcare system adaptation and access to hospital services.

Extending Moore's law by augmenting complementary-metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) transistors with emerging nanotechnologies (X) has become increasingly important. One important class of problems involve sampling-based Monte Carlo algorithms used in probabilistic machine learning, optimization, and quantum simulation. Here, we combine stochastic magnetic tunnel junction (sMTJ)-based probabilistic bits (p-bits) with Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) to create an energy-efficient CMOS + X (X = sMTJ) prototype.

Transglutaminase 2 (TG2) plays a vital role in stabilizing extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins through enzymatic crosslinking during tissue growth, repair, and inflammation. TG2 also binds non-covalently to fibronectin (FN), an essential component of the ECM, facilitating cell adhesion, migration, proliferation, and survival. However, the interaction between TG2 and fibrillar FN remains poorly understood, as most studies have focused on soluble or surface-adsorbed FN or FN fragments, which differ in their conformations from insoluble FN fibers.

Probabilistic computing has emerged as a viable approach to solve hard optimization problems. Devices with inherent stochasticity can greatly simplify their implementation in electronic hardware. Here, we demonstrate intrinsic stochastic resistance switching controlled via electric fields in perovskite nickelates doped with hydrogen.

Objective: Studies have shown that obesity is an independent risk factor for the development of atrial fibrillation (AF). Body Mass Index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC) have become accepted indicators of obesity. However, BMI is not sufficient to locate the fat-muscle distribution pattern and the fat-muscle ratio of the body.
