We focused on the establishment of a trial procedure for the collection and distribution of Japanese liver tissues obtained from waste surgical resections for drug development and research use. The following procedures were prepared for this project: the pretreatment of liver tissues before storage, their storage at 4 degrees C, the transport of liver samples, the setting up of a communication network among the participating hospitals and laboratories and the approval of each ethics committee. Thirteen liver samples (1.

To characterize this methyl-substituent effect on the thyroid toxicity of MBI, comparative toxicokinetic analyses have been conducted in the present study. MBI and the MMBIs [4-methylated MBI (4-MMBI) and 5-methylated MBI (5-MMBI), and a 1:1 mixture of these 4- and 5-methylated isomers (MMBI mix)] suspended in corn oil were repeatedly administered (at 0.

Teratogenicity of N-methylphenyl-N'-methylphenyl-p-phenylenediamine (MMPD), a rubber antioxidant, was examined in Wistar rats. MMPD was given to pregnant rats by gavage once a day from day 6 through day 15 of pregnancy at doses of 0, 2, 4 and 8 mg/kg/day. The pregnant rats were sacrificed on day 20 of pregnancy and their fetuses were examined.

Teratogenicity of morpholine salts of fatty acids was examined in Wistar rats (Crj: Wistar). Morpholine salts of fatty acids (oleic acid, 50% water solution) was given to pregnant rats by gavage once a day from day 6 through day 15 of pregnancy at doses of 0, 234, 468 and 936 mg/kg/day. The pregnant rats were sacrificed on day 20 of pregnancy and their fetuses were examined for malformation.

Teratogenicity of 2,2,3,3,3-pentafluoro-1-propanol (5FP), an alternative cleaning agent for chlorofluorocarbon, was examined in rats. 5FP was diluted with sesame oil and given to pregnant rats (Crj: Wistar) by gavage once a day from day 7 to 17 of pregnancy at doses of 0, 250, 500 and 1000 mg/kg/day. The pregnant rats were sacrificed on day 20 of pregnancy and their fetuses were examined for malformation.
