We report the development of a small molecule-based barcoding platform for pooled screening of nanoparticle delivery. Using aryl halide-based tags (halocodes), we achieve high-sensitivity detection via gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry or electron capture. This enables barcoding and tracking of nanoparticles with minimal halocode concentrations and without altering their physicochemical properties.

Methods: Between 2005 and 2022, 29,579 adults underwent surgical aortic or mitral valve replacement at Cleveland Clinic. Among these, 29 had an unrepaired coronary artery rising anomalously from the aorta that was not intervened upon during valve surgery, 19 (65%) an anomalous circumflex, and 9 (31%) an anomalous right.
Necrotizing pancreatitis (NP) is a severe complication of acute pancreatitis, characterized by necrosis of pancreatic and peripancreatic tissues, leading to significant morbidity and mortality. The role of necrosectomy, the surgical removal of necrotic tissue, in the management of NP has evolved over the past few decades, moving from early aggressive surgical intervention to a more conservative and stepwise approach. This narrative review explores the historical perspectives, current practices, and future trends in the role of necrosectomy in NP.
