The use of microbe-based biological control for crop pests is recognized as an environmentally safe substitute for conventional chemical pesticides. However, the practical application of microbial inoculants in large-scale agriculture is underexplored, impeding their widespread commercial adoption. This study addresses the scarcity of research on effective delivery methods for microbial inoculants, particularly through seed coating, which has the potential to be a cost- and time-efficient strategy in crop management.

Background: Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme, a large public health program, addresses the needs of young children with Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) as frontline agents of delivery. A scalable program incorporating early child development interventions (ASPIRE) has been developed to complement the program and address some of its gaps.

Objectives: This paper describes formative work done with AWWs, as part of ASPIRE to assess their understanding of early childhood development (ECD) and acceptability of a novel ECD intervention using digital technology.

Bacteriocin-producing strains were isolated from the soil of the rice field, screened out using an agar-well diffusion assay against six indicator bacterial strains, and the highest among them was selected for further investigation. The study focuses on how different growing conditions affect bacteriocin production. One-parameter-at-a-time (OPAT) and a central composite design of response surface methodology (RSM) were used to perform the optimization in two steps.
