Considerable research has focused on microbes on amphibian skin, as they act as the first line of defense against invading pathogens. This effort has generated substantial data on patterns across species, space, time, and ontogeny, alongside a growing list of beneficial antifungal symbionts. Though there is evidence of stability in amphibian skin microbial communities, there is also an indication that regular skin shedding reduces cultivable bacteria, with regrowth and recolonization in the period between sheds.

Methods: Using a case-control approach, we combined machine learning techniques and job exposure matrices to assess associations between exposures and illness claims and clusters of claims within specific worksites over a 3-week period.
Results: Of the 117,125 COVID-19 claims, most were primarily among younger groups, of shorter tenure, and from health care occupations.
Study Design: This was a retrospective cohort study.
Objective: To determine the proportion of referrals diverted by the spine virtual fracture clinic (SVFC) from traditional outpatient clinic management.
Summary Of Background Data: The consistent rise in demand for orthopedic outpatient clinic services is creating marked challenges to the provision of quality care.
Objective: We sought to identify worker groups with high prevalence of unmet mental health needs to inform employer benefits programs and outreach to increase access to care.
Methods: We conducted a repeated cross-sectional study to understand unmet mental health needs among workers since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic using the California Health Interview Survey data from 2013 to 2021.
Results: In 2021, 23.
Microbial mediated nitrogen (N) transformation is subject to multiple controlling factors such as prevailing physical and chemical conditions, and little is known about these processes in sediments of wet-dry tropical macrotidal systems such as Darwin Harbour in North Australia. To understand key transformations, we assessed the association between the relative abundance of nitrogen cycling genes with trophic status, sediment partition and benthic nitrogen fluxes in Darwin Harbour. We analysed nitrogen cycling gene abundance using a functional gene microarray and quantitative PCRs targeting the denitrification gene (nosZ) and archaeal ammonia oxidation (AOA.
