Scalable electrochemical system for rapid on-site detection of food allergens.

Food allergies affect millions of individuals worldwide, significantly impacting personal health and the economy. While avoiding allergenic foods remains the primary management strategy, consumers lack reliable means for immediate allergen detection in everyday dining settings. Here, we present iEAT2 (integrated Exogenous Allergen Test 2), an advanced electrochemical sensing system for rapid, on-site food allergen detection.

Intralesional Bleomycin for Orbital Venolymphatic Malformation.

This retrospective case series evaluates the use of intralesional bleomycin injections in treating orbital venolymphatic malformations (OVLM). Three patients, a 7-year-old girl, a 37-year-old woman, and a 56-year-old man, presented with OVLM where the first two were recurrent cases with a history of failed sclerotherapy. All patients received multiple doses of intralesional bleomycin injections, resulting in significant reductions in lesion size, decreased proptosis, and pain relief.

Change in adiposity indices after 1 year of peritoneal dialysis: a single-center cohort study.

Background: Weight gain is common after starting peritoneal dialysis (PD). Several adiposity indices have been developed recently as potential indicators of visceral adiposity and lipid accumulation. We aim to investigate the prevalence and prognostic implications of the change in adiposity indices after 1 year of PD.

Lumen-Apposing Metal Stents in the Management of Complex Pelvic Abscesses.

Background: Lumen-apposing metal stents (LAMS) are utilized in a wide range of therapeutic gastrointestinal applications. We present our experience with LAMS-assisted drainage of complex pelvic abscesses at a large safety-net hospital.

Methods: EUS-guided LAMS placements for pelvic abscesses from July 2020 to June 2024 were analyzed.
